I attended the most-recent retreat and it was, in so many ways, a wonderful experience. Dare i say, an enlightening experience. 😊 Of particular note: I was struck by the deft and empathetic way Angelo dealt with attendees during the daily Q&A portion of the event. There was a lot of trauma and emotional disregulation on the stage, and a host of differing personalities and energies. Angelo knew exactly how to handle each and every one with loving kindness and wisdom. I sense that they all got what they needed from the interaction and walked away better for it. I've never seen anything like it. His EQ must be off the charts. He is a real inspiration for a fellow physician.

thanks for sharing that sounds pretty cool. I imagine he must deal with a lot of different people in his job, which must help his teaching too.

After these past couple of weeks going through final exams, the title says everything in this video. Your descriptions somehow put all of my experiences into words in a way I never could. I still don't know what has changed but something has massively shifted.

Wow, This was exactly my experience at last years retreat, I've never heard it articulated in such a precise manner. In the ensuing year , doubt sometimes creeps in , but this is so helpful in eradicating that. Thanks so much.

Not special. Not failing to be special. Not beautiful or tragic but that which contains all beauty and tragedy. When I first “saw it” the mind/ego cycled through every conceivably emotion and orientation. “I”was afraid, ecstatic, grief, mirth, fascination, awe, etc etc. Yet, it was so obvious that there couldn’t be a right way to see it. I settled on humor. Because it really is a cosmic joke. A joke that can’t be told, an infinite prank or troll on nobody.

Bodily bindings like 'believing an eternal self-body' (strong false beliefs/views/Ditthi) and believing that 'I must respect/protect this practice/habit as a respect to others' must be removed to attain liberation.

How does one respond to criticism, when seeking peace and meditation. A criticism brought on when one is surrounded by the dominant religion. Accusations steeped religious doctrine.

I would imagine that if you had seen through the veil, you would be able to see it as scenes in a dream. Playing out according to some script that you can’t know until it presents. But you know at some level that it’s a script and that the real view is not affected. If that hasn’t happened, there’s no shame, but yes, it will seem serious and hurtful, and even those are experiences too let move through. At least that’s the less than I get from Angelo’s work and others.
