I spent a few days in retreat recently with the lovely Ven. Obhasa, a female Bhikkuni and wonderful TWIM teacher, who tells the greatest and humorous stories in her dhamma talks. I also learned in conversations with her how there are patriarchal ideas amongst monks. Thanks for calling this out, Delson. I disassociated from Roman Catholicism for this very reason and would like to see outdated teachings about women, etc dropped too. Maybe if the Buddha was born now, we would have some tweaks in the precepts-perhaps including screentime!
