Al Bennett was President of Liberty. In 1966 Transamerica took over and bought both Liberty and United Artists Records and later merged with UA to become United Artists until 1980.

Frankie, I got to talk to the lady that kept the record books, I told her how much I love the music of Ross Bagdasarian aka David seville and I have all 12 original Chipmunks LPS, she told me to keep them because who owns what's left of Liberty won't. My copy of let's all sing with the chipmunks, the matrix number isn't in the record books, she said.

What does it mean, if the matrix number isn't in the books? They pressed it, and someone pocketed the money without being official?
