Time for a winter warm-up! Making Pasta e Fagioli the traditional way, with dried beans, takes about 3 hours to cook. This delicious version is made in just 30 minutes. The beans used here are canned, cooked beans, and you can either pass all the beans through a food mill or leave half of them whole to create more texture in the soup. LOVE this recipe! Very easy, inexpensive, and delicious! The soup itself is very hearty and packs the delicious rosemary flavors. I've been watching Lidia's cooking show since I was a young kid and still love her recipes!

In my opinion pasta and beans is the perfect midday lunch to have, ever since I was a little child my Mother made this for our family, I would even eat it cold out of the refrigerator.....

These are the same ingredients that my Italian mother-in-law used for her pasta fagioli except she used the dried beans. Love this recipe!

Fantastic instructions, Lidia, about cooking being like chemistry as my mom had taught me. Also thank you for explaining why you choose the plum tomatoes. Your videos are very educational and enjoyable especially when I follow your recipes and make the delicious food inspired by your creations ,family history and experiences. 💖🙏. The attention to detail and the importance of the smaller steps are never overlooked in your videos and I greatly appreciate that for example as you explained how to properly prepare the bread

I know people hate these kind of questions: I don’t have cannellini beans in the pantry, but I have cans and cans of garbanzo beans. Can I substitute them in your recipe?
