If you go thru life without a thorough understanding of how and why you see things the way you do, you do not have much control over what you do or how you think, because those who DO understand it are targeting your perception to shape it for their benefit. I understand your perspective on self-help gurus selling you false dreams, telling you you're inadequate as you are, and their portrayal of traditional jobs. While I agree that some of their messaging can paint an unrealistic picture, I also think there's a grain of truth in their message. I don't think I've ever talked to somebody working a conventional job who genuinely loves what they do. I don't necessarily believe that having a conventional job is inherently wrong. Self-help gurus may have extreme views on self-improvement, but I feel like the core message of aspiring to become the most exceptional version of ourselves, leaving a lasting and memorable impression on others and challenging conventional practices is what makes their message resonate with their viewers.
