Ok, so this is my objective view - I’m not taking M&H’s side or the Royal Family’s side. When they got married they got popular very quickly, too popular, because they definitely overshadowed the super boring Will & Kate. Suddenly there was a fun, popular Prince & a biracial princess who represented the hundreds of thousands of non-white members of the commonwealth, where there had never been one before within the royal family. Their future looked so bright - too bright - for William & Kate that is. It’s all about the crown and William is the future crown. The British tabloids then instantly turned on them and within months started printing nothing but horrible stories about Harry & Meghan. Harry, in their engagement interview, did say that it was amazing that the woman he fell in love with would also be perfect for the job, since she was an actress and used to being in the spotlight. Turns out she wasn’t. She was Hollywood, outspoken and narcissistic, definitely not suited for the limitations of royal life. She thought that she & Harry would combine their charitable endeavors and change the world for the better. But she forgot that the Royals can’t take a stand or have an opinion, she forgot that as a Royal she doesn’t get a voice - she gets a gag order. It turns out that William was right to voice his concerns over Harry’s choice of bride and how quickly things were moving. But Harry didn’t listen. This is where it gets dicey. Harry was never comfortable with his position as a useless spare and according to Princess Diana’s servants, was always looking for a way out. Meghan was his way out of the firm, much like Wallis Simpson was Edward the 8th’s way out of his responsibilities. Of course the British media would never blame the royal men for abandoning their duties - they must have been bewitched by these evil controlling women! Bottom line is this: Harry is exactly like his mother, he’ll tell his troubles to whoever is listening, recording or filming and Meghan is the Dutchess of Windsor 2.0, taking all the blame for it. He might be calling all the shots but she’s the one being thrown under the bus. And now they’re in the same predicament as the Windsors, exiled and forced to take up commercial opportunities to make money since they’re no longer on the Royal payroll (the British tax payers money). Which is my next point. Why are the British citizens so upset that M&H are forging their own way forward and taking Netflix deals and just earning their own money ? Charles, Camilla, William & Kate and their extended family of courtiers are the ones costing them millions of taxpayer money every year! Why are the British people not outraged that the duchy of Cornwall and Lancaster’s profits are going directly to the Royal family’s private bank??? These estates were seized by the royal family illegally and are still in dispute- the profits should be distributed to the people! I feel like anybody who’s got half a brain in England should be for the abolition of monarchy. For anybody who argues that the Royal family brings in tourist revenues, so does the palace of Versailles- and the French don’t need any royals hanging around to do it! Sure, Kate and William and Charles all show up to charity functions to raise money for their causes- but if they actually just turned over the duchies of Lancaster and Cornwall’s profits over to the government they could end all of England’s financial problems overnight!
