If you can't parry by the end of the game just put on the grindstone that does it automatically or use your throwing items. The game gives you multiple ways to beat every boss either the easy way or the hard way

Aegis Legion arm is super usefull too against this bastard, also a smart organ P build. I had guard health refill to max, Legion to max, a nice collection of items to throw, and the amulet to dodge fury attacks.

I respectfully disagree. It's not artificially difficult, it's not broken, they do try to throw off your timing with fast slow fast animation, but it's overall just a much tighter window and perfectly do-able; plenty of youtube vid out there with ppl perfect parrying everything. Also, being on gamepass isn't necessarily a demotion or indicator of a game's quality/value, there are always good games and bad games and I'm glad gamepass allowed me to discover this game and fell in love w/ it.

The parrying isn’t that hard and laxasia and nameless puppet are some of the most satisfying bosses in any soulslike game even comparable to the best of fromsoft. The level design is also top notch. The game also released as a complete game without major glitches which is sadly becoming less and less common these days. You just have a skill issue.

He was Level 230+ (well-beyond what's needed for end game) with +5/6ish weapons when he fought Malenia for 15 hours (indicative of a really poor build/setup, for those that didn't play Elden Ring). It's not that TBH is whack, he just severely underestimates the importance of core gameplay concepts which then makes his time more difficult than it has to be (same thing in RE4R when he got to the last boss with a non-upgraded village shotgun and weapons). The somewhat frustrating part for me is that he'll shit on the game when there are options he's not considering. But at the same time it makes for good/funny content so 🤷🏽‍♂️

You’re 100% correct and everyone needs to see this. Not only that, the reason it feels late to everyone is cause they’re not counting the time it takes P to raise guard. As soon as you understand this, everything about guarding makes sense. It might even vary by weapon. Parrying is way easier to me using the Twin Dragon Sword but when I switch to Puppet Ripper i notice I have to tap guard a tad bit sooner than I’m used to.

And I have beaten all the souls games this game literally forces you to switch your preferred play style near the end of the game it’s annoying then you have to sit and wait for that bullshit tree just so you can respec. It’s dumb it’s either the bosses are incredibly easy or incredibly cheesy. The best boss king of puppets is literally is in chapter 6 so you get the best boss way too early.

So I can compare it if I want. And I beat the game so I don’t see how I suck. This game tries to put the best of every souls game and it just doesn’t work. Stamina sucks in this game, dodging is an afterthought because parrying is far superior, throwables are broken. This game was a 9/10 until the last 30% of the game when they just make it artificially hard by making enemies almost one shot you. Every single boss has delayed attacks so it makes them all feel samey. Ppl don’t even know there’s armor cause the game has a weigh problem that they since fixed. Huge enemies like Simon have broken hit boxes and cameras. I know what I’m talking about, it’s good but extremely flawed game

Artificial difficulty doesn't exist. Knowledge and execution are two different things and you need both. If you can't execute even with your knowledge, then that's that. Nothing to get upset over. Pressing a button at the right time is not artificial difficulty, yea maybe you can’t see what’s hitting you but watch another part of their body, if you can’t see his arms watch his torso or legs, if it’s not delayed it’s instant. There are multiple items and builds where you can make the game as easy as Elden ring. If you’re good at sekiro you’re good at this. You just have to appreciate this is closest soulslike to fromsoftware, the amount of polish, quality and thought that went into this was insane. The only problems were the story was too young adult, the linearity and the poise/hyper-armour. if you can’t parry just say so🤷‍♂️it’s pretty simple

Ok for one sekiro parry was extremely forgiving and the animation feedback was perfect, not in lies of p, not to mention sekiro never breaks its own rules. With the power attack ( visceral attack) like lies of p does just to get a cheap death on the player.

If LoP was as forgiving as sekiro the game would be too easy bc of the rally mechanic. All the same rules still apply to each game, deflect=builds up posture bar, attack=builds up posture bar and slows down posture recovery, prosthetic/legion arm=targeting different enemies weaknesses. Only difference in the two being each visceral you don’t take the whole health bar out, bc then again LoP would be too easy. In sekiro your main goal is to deflect, you only use dodge in very specific scenarios. Whereas LoP you can play how you want (deflect, dodging after upgrades etc) if LoP were solely based around deflecting the game would make it clear with keeping the base dodge the whole game. But it doesn’t which is why it isn’t as “perfect” as sekiro. I still think sekiros the better game

Took me about 30 minutes to beat the final boss since I parried everything thru out my playthru instead of dodging. The parry grindstone is also really broken, first time using it and i beat the boss. Felt like cheating since I didn’t need it honestly.

Idk if they have heavy weapons in this game but this is the exact reason i use heavy weapons...that stagger is prime in boss fights

Sounds like a whole lot of “GET GUD” lmfao, game is definitely worth 70 dollars and is the best soulslike experience I’ve ever played, and btw if you can’t BLOCK unlike this content creator can do you can obviously use the SHIELD and upgrade it to tier two, boss is cake lol

I agree with everyone else dawg 😂 The parry system is fine and it seemed like you were ignoring a lot of the options available to you that makes combat more enjoyable. You were over reliant on rolling and ignoring blocking, perfect block, throwables, even wish stones. I didn’t watch your playthrough but I’m even wondering if you upgraded the dodge via P-Organs. Can’t complain that the devs are forcing you to play a certain way when you’re the one ignoring whole mechanics lol

Basically youre saying you went all the way through the game without trying to master its main combat mechanic and now complain when it truly puts those skills youre meant to learn to the test. Im not the best at it but ive managed to 100% the game.

Respect the opinion, but hard disagree. This game it very true to itself even though it's heavily inspired by Soulslikes. You gotta play Lies of P like Lies of P. Not any other game. I'll admit, the parrying is awkward compared to what I'm used to. That CANNOT be denied. Should the parrying function like Sekiro? YES. But idk there's a lot of different approaches to the game

I have found when I have trouble timing my parry I count it out so I have the actually time it supposed to take for the delays.

I enjoyed the game all the way up until the last optional fight, i literally dodged my way alllll the way through the game. Then you fight the nameless puppet and you have 0 choice but to parry

Nah it's just a Skill issue. I literally beat laxasia and nameless puppet without parrying while using an STR build. People who lack skill always blame the game.
