I asked because the Bible is clear that marriage is for life and only death breaks the marital Covenant ( Romans 7:1-3, 1 Corinthians 7:39, Mark 10:7-9) And that any divorce and remarriage TO ANOTHER is adultery. Sadly there are too many marriage restoration videos on KZbin that are 2nd, 3rd or even 4th marriages to OTHER PARTNERS that aren't the original Covenant spouse. Thus these are not true marriages but adulterous affairs. (Mark 10:1-12, Luke 16:18, Romans 7:1-3). Glad to hear your restoration is Biblical!! By the way, I'm currently standing for my marriage after being divorced 4 years ago by a wife who's wandered from the Lord. Your prayers for our restoration are appreciated 🙏

For anyone else reading this response, see below. To @@philarevolutionarywarriorp8295 we are so sorry to hear about your marriage. Praying for you right now! We come across many who stand for marriage and are deeply encouraged. It's beautiful to see you fulfilling that calling on your life. Especially being that it is a high calling He does not make to everyone. We stand with those who stand, while also upholding the inherent freedom in 1 Cor. 7:15 that abandoned spouses are to "let it be so" and "live in peace." In regards to the claims made here about marriage and adultery, we agree with the heart of this comment… but we wouldn't say that every remarriage to a new spouse is an adulterous affair. In fact, we know more remarriages than we can count that God has blessed and brought healing and restoration through.

 This isn’t the place for a theological dissertation or discussion, so let this be the final word: there are many differing views on this issue (even among groups of respected, conservative theologians!). Each person must study the entirety of scripture for themselves and follow their conscience using wisdom, discernment, and community. Then, as NT Wright says regarding contentious issues, "The aim should be to live in such a way that doesn't make demands on one another's conscience, but may make demands on one another's charity."
