Thank you for sharing your story. I have been following you since the very beginning. I have a extremely similar background to you and have learned that along the way while following your channel. When you came out with this story, it was a couple of years into my own experience of this and I was still struggling. Hearing the experience from someone who it almost feels like I know at this point was extremely helpful and validating. Thank you so much Syd, never forget who you are and God bless!

I hope you truly believe this when I say this - I do not know you personally, but I just want to say I am proud of you. I hope you never let anyone tell you otherwise because just by hearing you talk I can tell how much strength you have. I got this image of God just wrapping His arms around you and whether or not other people in your life affirm you or tell you they are proud of you, just know God is VERY proud and always will be. He recognizes your strength and truly loves you. Thank you for being a mentor and "big sister" a lot of us didn't have! Love you Syd!!

I went from like a lukewarm Christian to LDS to now going back to Christianity. My biggest struggle I can definitely say is feeling bad and like I let God down for essentially getting dooped. I do not regret joining the church or what I learned. I needed that at my point in life. I just feel kinda dumb sometimes for believing what they told me for so long and not doing my own research of any kind before joining

For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten son. That whosoever believe in him will not perish but have everlasting life! The deep perfect love of Jesus is what I want to convey. I hope that you and sara B can know the deep perfect love of Jesus. That we were dead in our sin but Jesus came and died paying the penalty of our sin on the cross that we may be alive together with God and no longer guilty of sin. And no on gets to the Father but by Him. Jesus is love because he would go so far to save us. To make us new. I hope this helps you understand what I meant. I’ll be praying that I would be a loving, confident witness for Him and that you guys would come to know or continue to persue the God of perfect love.

3:26 and now it's time to play GUESS THAT SOUND: a/c turning on or typical Texas torrential downpour? Love this vid Syd! Walking away from a faith that binds your entire social/family has to be hard. I was raised in a non religious household but I like going to church on some Sunday mornings. I found a beautiful old church here in my city that looks insanely gorgeous inside, very old, tons of stained glass windows, the whole thing is surreal but I love it. I leave feeling very calm and rejuvenated.

Thanks for sharing. As an atheist, I'm still interested in religion, and why individuals believe what they do, and their journey on that path. I can't imagine how hard leaving something that was so ingrained into your life. Find out what you believe to be right, not what any one person tells you. And you definitely don't owe an explanation of that decision to anyone.

Sydney, Brother Faria here, just came across your video. Many times this happens in the reverse when people convert to the Church of Jesus Christ. When my Dad joined the Church of Jesus Christ after growing up Jewish, his mother (with whom he was very close) cut him off from the family and they actually had a funeral for him. This was very difficult for him; but he stayed true to his testimony of Jesus Christ and the Book of Mormon which testifies of Jesus Christ. I hope Sydney that you re-realize that it is not the "Mormon" Church, but is The Church of Jesus Christ. You have a great family, you are so blessed, and Rick is the coolest guy ever 😃 and Mary too. We have so many good memories with your Mom and Dad.

So baby girl I'm so blessed that u found JESUS amen. So here is a small but important truth, well not really small. The Hebrew people are and still is GOD'S chosen people. N as u grow in ur faith the more HE will open ur heart n its an absolute bushla thing. I will keep u in prayer to keep hungry for HIS word. And as far as family blood does not make family ,u have been blessed keep that in mind n give GOD the glory n the praise. N this walk u r on is between u n GOD n no one else. Go to ur Bible seek HIS word n GOD is not a theology HE is a faith a belive. Theology is a word from the catholic church that i remember from school. Remember GOD is a faith, a devotion, a close walk with a friend, someone who has layed HIS life for yours taken all for u, bleed for u, have seen who u were are and who u are going to be and still came down from heaven, for you. So no young one not theology, blind faith, whole hearted devotion, never ending never bending love, unyielding heart for you but not theology. Welcome to the family of GOD Jesus 🙏 if u do not have a complete study Bible hit me I belive my name is on this n its my real name I will have the bible book store where I am in Alaska contact here ur at n have one waiting for u . Again baby girl welcome to the family of God. Have u been baptized yet? Hit me n let me know.

People who leave churches fall into two categories: 1. who did not have a personal, deep connection with God; 2. who have a personal, deep connection with God. There is also a third category: it is a combination of the two above. (Somehow I'm kidding with the third category). We need a spiritual education. Time does not allow us to avoid the subject, and that is why I say it directly: "If any man will do his will, he shall know of the [...] doctrine". (John 7:17) More specifically, whoever comes to love God will end up in the Seventh-day Adventist Church - whether he has heard of it or not. The phrase "Salvation comes from the Jews" (John 4:22) implies that God truly has a church of His own; only one that has passed through the centuries under several names, whether it has been accepted in society or not. "For the love of God abideth in his commandments. And his commandments are not grievous." (1 John 5: 3)

Are you asking out of general curiosity or are you asking in a passive aggressive/upset manner? If it's the latter, why would her deciding to keep some of her life private for herself offend or upset you? Many people who are very open with their lives (influencers, celebs, musicians, etc) keep their spirituality personal. Nobody should feel obligated to share that, even if they speak on issues relating to it such as church, organized religion and family.

You misrepresented what people talk about in Conference. It is the church of Jesus Christ and people talk about Christ and shouldn't be misrepresented by what you describe as "sad" because it isn't true, it's false witness. One of the things important to God promoted in His commandments is to honor your father and your mother, you seem to advocate the opposite, rebelling against your parents for selfish reasons causes contention and strife, hurting social cohesion. Even if you disagree with your parents about your worldview you don't seem to promote honoring them and what they've done for you. To honor them if you are so confident you are right about God and they are wrong, talk to them, show them results, defend it on merit with evidence, that would show love and that you were following God because God is love.
