Thank you Keke for giving Serena the space to debunk those terrible narratives about her settling for Kordell cause no one else wanted her. As soon as Jacobi came out of the villa he made it known Serena was his first choice but she was locked in with Kordell and kept talking about him in chats. Nigel took her out on a date and even tried to kiss her. Now we're learning Caine was making her breakfast every morning and asking JaNa how to win her over. Serena was wanted, but knew what she wanted at that point. She didn't settle, she was just a slow burner (like she said from day 1) and that's absolutely fine. Women don't have to be all in from the beginning just because the man is and with her past it makes all the sense in the world that Serena took her time. People are so used to men not wanting them for setting boundaries, fortunately that's not Serena and Kordell's experience.

The producers seemed unhappy that the audience was more interested in the black and brown couples. Consequently production attempted to force Aaron, Kaylor and Rob on us, the audience really were not in to them. This reflected in the posts on social media. I think this is why the top 3 couples especially Serena and Kordell stories were so fragmented. The reunion should have shown more unseen footage on Serena and Kordell but they didn’t. That too was disappointing. It left me feeling like the story was incomplete. Keke, thanks for this interview it filled in a lot of blanks.

Here’s what I’ll say: I haven’t watched a lot of interviews with Love Island or podcasts with the cast, but I’ve caught clips. Here’s why representation matters. This season of Love Island was genuinely meant for black women in a way I can’t describe. We peeped everything, from the microaggression to Serena to the messiness and choppy storylines. I enjoyed having Keke interview the main winners, highlighting this and giving them space to answer and share their perspectives while lifting them up, especially Serena, because people have sadly attacked her character. We all know it comes back to race. I also enjoy learning and seeing Kordell say he defended her more and shared his perspective. It adds to how genuine he is cause we didn’t get to see that, and sadly, it all comes down to the show's editing. This season was indeed the season of black love and authentic love. I love this episode. I loved Serena and Kordell, and PPG is still on top🩷

This was an excellent and in depth interview and I love that Kordell is 22 years old and so emotionally mature. He is a rare breed. But it was enlightening to hear that in stick and twist they were told different things.❤ What I also love about Serena and Kordell is the fact that they seem as if their meeting was pre determined with living close to each other in Texas unknowingly. But the other thing and I am much older. You see Kordell knew he wanted Serena from the time he saw her. Men if they like you nothing will sway them. He put in the work. I love love but particularly relate to Serena and Kordell. This KeKe was by far the best interview and one they deserved as the WINNERS OF LOVE ISLAND S6 ❤💙from another strong Black woman Miss Keke Y'all made my day 😊

I think people were missing the fact that this is an example of an authentic couple they went through hardships they worked through those hardships because they knew the connection they had as well as Serena being a slow burner is common sometimes trust becomes so hard when it’s been lie after lie so l respect her and him❤️

I love the way Serena talks. She’s so eloquent. Production really tried to push a certain narrative and it just didn’t work. The favorites are the ladies they attempted to villainize and remove 😂

Great interview! So glad they cleared up the N Word/PushUps thing. It was obvious that was a fun thing Serena/Kordell made up! Do we really think Serena would just be like “Okay!” if production told her this is something she HAD to do. Now production is Messy AF but they not dumb they’re so many negative repercussions that could come from something like that especially legally.
