I have a friend who got his camera stolen and he found out that someone was selling it in a selling app named Wallapop! They went undercover like you guys and they acted like they wanted to buy the camera and when they were going to meet with the person they contacted the police to come with them but also undercover so the robber didn’t suspect anything and when they check that it was his camera he made a signs to the police... and like that they got their camera back!! So I recommend to check for your stuff in this selling app called Wallapop maybe all your equipment is been sold there!

Ella Banana maybe, but not likely. Sadly, thievery is rampant in some European countries. They have gangs that operate, kind of like they have in stories set in "old London town". They couldn't possibly use everything they steal. They will have someone they take it to who'll be in charge of getting rid of it. These days they'll probably try and get as much data off it first, if they can and sell that too. There are some places in Europe that are known to be really bad, like at the Eiffel Tower and the places in Barcelona that Eamon and Bec stated that are rife with pickpockets. It's a good tip from Eamon to wear shorts with zips. They even have blades so they can cut straps on handbags etc. The other kind is someone who has a small machine in a back pack or somewhere similar and they'll just walk through a crowd and that machine will steal all the info from credit cards etc. so an RFDI card protector is another good idea. Other kinds of opportunistic crimes also happen, like the stuff that Eamon and Bec had taken... If they hadn't left it out charging there's a good chance it would have still been there when they got back. These criminals break into multiple vehicles and steal what they can easily see and only takes a few seconds braid they don't know when the owner will be back so it's in and out as quickly as possible. It's a really tough lesson for E and B but I'm willing to bet they'll never ever walk away from their van, leaving all their gear charging, ever again.

Police don't do that..youn gotta file a claim or open a case. And it goes through court process, complainant and defendant must go to court where judge oversees the preceding. Goes for any country, police don't do stake outs, unless its from the court approval. Especially for a silly camera, ya fool 😂

Exactly. Stuff is not worth dying over or getting gangraped or whatever, and you never know how aggressive a criminal is going to be. Have insurance and suck it up, and let the police confront the crooks. Sure, give the cops any tracking info you have, but never confront a criminal first hand. When you want to know if a Pawn Shop is not on the up and up, If you don't see things like iPhones you ask them if they have any, and if they say hold on and walk in the back and come back with some then you know they're keeping them back there because they know or think they may be stolen. But you two had photos of both of you in your phones, so you'll have to get your friends to go in and ask. I use to work with the investigation unit of our Police Department, and we found and busted many shops like that dealing a lot of "backdoor deals". They don't put hot/stolen items out for detectives to see.

About 3 years ago, in Victoria, my daughter had her laptop stolen from her apartment. With tracking the police were able to trace where it was AND retrieve it! All fairly quickly. We felt like operatives meeting the officer at a parking lot, driving to the area, phone pinging. (knowing my daughter I would not let her go on her own) Once it was traced to a specific house the police ‘visited’ - seems it was well known.

Special thank you to Vi and Ricard for all their help. Praying all your equipment will be returned to you by a miracle. So grateful that you guys' were not harmed physically. This has also happened to my fiancee and myself many years ago. We were at home in a one bedroom apartment on the ground floor and we were asleep. Police said we were very blessed that no harm came to either of us during the robbery. We woke up to all our electronics missing and oddly enough some of my dresses, shoes too. But my purse was left in tact. More importantly we were not hurt. It is indeed a feeling of extreme invasion and it is quite normal to feel on edge for awhile. Glad you added more security to the van. Love, hugs and prayers to you both.

A tip that I recommend is to record serial numbers of all high value items either on paper or email that way you can identify your property. This also helps when you have to file a home owners/renter insurance.

It was back when i was an exchange student in France, back in 1979 (ancient history) ... visited Barcelona and was awed by the Catedral de la Sagrada Familia... not far from Parc Guell. the estimated completion of the massive Gaudi edifice was way past my projected lifetime, and i am happy to hear that there are actually tours of the catedral today. the construction wasn't that far along way back then. Barcelona is a wonderful place and the people are so open and friendly.... BE SAFE

@@eamonandbec Norway is best in the summer though, in the winter you can't go over the mountains, which you can in the summer. There are some serious vistas to be found there. Best tip for Norway driving is to watch the map - whenever there's a long tunnel, stop and find the original way over the mountain. Most of them are paved and the views are intense.
