I am thankful The Mormon Channel did the story of my sons Chris & Mitch Taylor. This is a family disease and everyone suffers because of the behavior of the addicts. Denial and enabling them is not the answer! It is not our responsibility to save them. Unfortunately the loved ones are not able to tell of the nightmare they lived daily. I am very thankful for my husband Tim and Richie our oldest son who was there to help his brothers in dangerous situation's! I have watched the video several times. So many prayers from family & friends we're answered. Definitely not in the way I could have ever imagined. We lost so many years of life because of addiction and what war does to someone . Referring to what Mitch said. I had to do something different. For years my life was so overwhelming. I was doing everything to try and help them, when I should have helped myself. Believe me it wasn't easy and did not happen over night. I was able to give my burden's to my Savior and trust him with faith, patience, and hope to never give up on my son's. Or our family. I started going to a LDS Family Support Group. I currently am serving as a facilitator for families who have loved ones suffering from addiction. 🙏👼

I was so touched by these young men's journeys. My husband served 3 1/2 tours in Vietnam as a Green Beret. He wasn't affected by post traumatic stress immediately upon his return home, but it surfaced 32 years later after a four-month hospital stay. He'd had open-heart surgery that went terribly wrong. And while in the hospital (seven weeks in ICU, seven weeks in extended care where he learned again how to talk and walk, and four weeks in rehab), the PTSD manifested itself. How he suffered. How I suffered with him. We sought help by talking with counselors, various clergy, other servicemen with similar experiences. He got better. I pray that you fine young men will also get better with your testimonies of Jesus Christ growing and helping you both on your journeys.

Thank you both for serving our country. I am so happy that you have found peace by turning fully to Christ. I cannot imagine your emotional trauma, only my own challenges. But I am proud of you both. Thank you for being willing to share your story.

This is a very good video. Thanks be to these two men who went through so much. Survived so much. Have the courage to tell their story. I have PTSD for other reasons, namely traumatic childhood & traumatic domestic violence from my 1st marriage. My 2nd husband is amazing, but he like other friends and family have had to deal with the aftereffects of the PTSD. Thank you for serving our country. Thanks for finding your way out of the darkness to show others your light. To teach that God can bring beauty from ashes. You both are turning something bad that happened to you and using your story to give hope to others, to educate those that don't have an understanding of PTSD how it affects a person. You self-medicate with the Savior, now. Not with illegal drugs. People won't need drugs with feeling the love and power Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ have to offer. They make you high on life, instead. When rough patches creep back up, They will shield, protect, comfort, and fight your battles.

Awesome stuff! Kudos to these two guys for making themselves vulnerable, by releasing this personal information for the welfare of others. I'm really enjoying what the Church is doing through these videos. :)

Eric Waldron Hello from Australia Eric Waldron, I too have been enjoying and learning from these Church videos. This particular experience with the Taylor brother's makes you realise that even though we know that we are all sons and daughters of Heavenly Father, we are still human beings capable of suffering, making mistakes and falling down. God bless!

I noticed how one brother said "Each day I wake up I can give these memories to Christ". Starting each day over again is a principle of living life with deep emotional and spiritual injury. It isn't about everything being fixed in one emotional moment with the Holy Ghost. The pain must be dealt with daily and given to Christ daily.

“His Grace is Sufficient”! Jesus Christ makes up for ALL the difference! I know that if we call for Him…He will meet us where we are! …with a loving embrace that perhaps we’ll understand someday! How can He love somebody who is so unworthy of His love? I don’t know, but try it…come, see…follow Him! I know He lives!!!

Psalms 68:5 A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling. God sets the lonely in families, he leads out the prisoners with singing; but the rebellious live in a sun-scorched land. Isaiah 26:3 You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you. 1 Peter 2:23-24 When they hurled their insults at him, he did not retaliate; when he suffered, he made no threats. Instead, he entrusted himself to him who judges justly. "He himself bore our sins" in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; "by his wounds you have been healed."

And appreciate progress. Even if you are making baby steps. I have been having a difficult time these past few days. I have emotional disorders. Even though I am disappointed in my struggles, the shame is gone. I can look anyone in the eye, and not shrink with shame. That is improvement for me. And for that I am grateful. And for that, I am willing to trust in God that as I continue to make good choices, and to choose God daily, I trust that I will continue to make baby steps of improvement.
