I remember, when i was a little boy back in the early 1990's, i saw the ad of this game from one of the Amiga game magazines. It looked so scary, i could not want to play it 😹. And before this came out, there was the original Amiga program, THE SURGEON, made in 1987 😹🤘🕹️.

Man, when you play something like this, it makes you put into perspective all the dramatic responsibilities those physicians have. It's crazy how stressful of a job they have

@@Polemodrome This game also had the sequel, LIFE & DEATH II: THE BRAIN. 😹🤘🕹️

I wanted to get into the patient, but fumbled the controls... The graphics were amazing, considering that this is CGA

"Padding the hospital bill in this manner is frowned upon at Toolworks General" I can see that realism wasn't the main goal here.

I really did not do this game justice with the review, there are really a lot more to explore in the patients that are on the operating table. However, the user interface is honestly a bit tricky to learn, and so I lost at least one patient to that....

Software Toolworks? The same ST who developped the Super Mario educational games on the NES and SNES? I didn't know they developed for the MS-DOS. This one is the type of game which catches my interest, thanks! At any rate, congrats for scheduling an appendectomy on a patient without appendicitis, Dr. Nick 😂

Yeah, I did not have any experience with this game at all. However, it did draw me in pretty quickly.

Heheh. "I have no idea what that is" is probably among the things you'd least like to hear the surgeon say when you're going under in an operating room...

Being on the operating table is already an experience to avoid, and hearing that would definitely freak me out as well. Luckily, doctors get a bit more training that I had!

Life and Death had to crawl so Trauma Center could run :)
