I'm 28years old I'm a new cna for 1 year now. I'm already exhausted with bedside nursing. I see how the nurse are exhausted and this makes me remember when i was in middle and high school i always said i want to be an RN now i want more than being an RN. Im in my 3rd yr of undergraduate and once i finish I'm going for family nurse practitioner. I don't see myself doing bedside nursing in the near future everyday i leave work my andbody hurts. I can't do bedside for years and years my body will end up being worn-out before I'm even 40 and i definitely don't want that. I see how some nurse say they are hurting everyday that they are at work and its terrible!! I don't want the back pain and body aches this early in my life im still young. I kind of laugh at myself now when i think back how i wanted to only be an RN after seeing the things i have seen and experienced i want more !!!!

Yes! I honestly hadn't considered going to NP school when I first started nursing! RN was the last stop for me, especially after surviving nursing school. But after working for a while, it seemed like most shifts ended with me feeling exhausted and my low back aching. Youre lucky to be working as a CNA because you get that real nursing experience and see what nurses go through first hand! No sugar coating. Now you get to make the most informed decision for you!

I hear mixed responses on KZbin, but the NPs that I know personally seem to generally be pretty happy & don't regret it. Good luck with your last semester!

Loved this! Are you still having to chart at home? If not, how long did that last?
@accordingtosara5491
@accordingtosara5491 Жыл бұрын
Thank you! Luckily I'm not spending time charting at home anymore because I work at an Urgent Care, so charting is more focused and I'm able to complete it at work. I would say that charting at home would depend on your specialty. For me personally, the first year, I was always charting at home. Things improved when I created a template for myself & utilized it for all of my patients and when I became more confident in my charting.

So are you saying that travel nursing makes more than an NP? Or are you saying a regular bedside local nurse can make more than an NP?
@accordingtosara5491
@accordingtosara5491 Жыл бұрын
As far as travel nursing goes, it depends on many factors such as the specialty of the travel nurse (ICU, ER, etc), the location of the assignment, the season.. Personally, yes I was paid higher as a traveler during COVID, but never as a full-time staff RN.
