The only suggestion I have, off the top of my head, is to freeze the green banana biomass in ice cube trays, then after they are frozen solid, the frozen cubes can be removed from the trays and kept loose in a big bag or container and taken out of the freezer one ice cube at a time. For those concerned about carb content, green banana biomass does not have the same carb count as a ripe banana! Biomass is approximately 2.5 carbs per tablespoon and you'd only use 1 or 2 tablespoons. We usually eat the entire ripe banana which is approximately 25-30 carbs! And simply put-- bananas cause quite a blood sugar spike, whereas the biomass is not digested in the same way, so majority of people discover it's all good! It's even recommended for diabetics👍👍 It can't hurt to be your own excitement and test it for yourself!

Thank you, thank you. Never heard of this before. Lucked into some organic green bananas. I love it. Great way to have tasty, healthy salad dressing. I just made an orange vinaigrette dressing and pour over cooked beets. I see they also sell green banana flour. Scientific studies corroborate the health benefits of this. And as another viewer stated, YES, I'm putting the peels in my outdoor worm bin.

Okay, so I'm the targeted audience, at least in part. 😅 That was so interesting because it's a completely new ingredient to me. I'm especially eager to learn how to use it for cakes and other sweets and how it enhances them. Btw, I don't mind your detailed information on the recipes at all Why should I? I want my questions properly answered.😉 Don't apologise to Gen Z for their 30 seconds attention span. 😉 Thanks for the intriguing introduction.👏

@@ChefJana I'm gen Z and I want the details! Most things in KZbin aren't really interesting but this definitely is! I hadn't been so intrigued by an ingredient in a long time. This deserves a detailed explanation because it could change mainstream vegan cooking forever. This is important! This needs to be known!!

This is the first video I have seen of you and my mind was blown!💥 I have been cooking whole food plant based for over a year, no oil or processed foods. I am going to try this, I'm so impressed with how you demonstrated it so simply. The only thing I question is, the recipe shown at the end you added olive oil. If the green banana replaces oil, why use oil in the recipe?

I have made a pesto alla trappanese, and I used the GBB instead of ricotta cheese, but you can alternate ;)

When I saw “substitutes eggs” I couldn’t have clicked faster! As someone with an egg allergy, it can be difficult to find good substitutes, especially for baking cookies and cakes. Many other recipes as well. I can’t wait to try this! (Instant new subscriber- so glad to have had this recommended to me! ☺️) But I must ask: How will I know that it has worked?

I'm impatiently waiting for her to tell us how and how much to use of this GBB as an egg substitute.

Question: how to cook it without a pressure cooker? Very sweet that you made this video with love :) Perhaps call it banana starch, because the word 'biomass' is sometimes associated with sewage :(
@ChefJana3 жыл бұрын
Sure, just follow the same steps, only you will bring the bananas to a boil then to a swimmer and let them simmering for 20 to 30 minutes. 😘
