The thing is, you do have to care about what people think of you if they are in a position to fire you from your job. If it's your livelihood, your source of income that's at stake, you need to care what they think of you.

Hi and thanks for your comment. I think that within the professional arena is the exception, as how people view you, whether your an employee or employer is important as you rightly say.
