Yes, my eyes look like this. I appreciate that you have a heavier brow, and not a fully hooded lid. I find I use some of these techniques after lots of years of experimenting. I use my thumb as well to drag the liner to make a subtle wing. I hardly ever use a gel or pencil until I have the shape mapped by eyeshadow. Your example is a lot like katie jane hughes.
@TomFraserMUA4 жыл бұрын
Ohh I've not seen how Katie does it, but I'll definitely have a look! Eyeshadow is such a fab way of doing eyeliner on its own too- I often do it just to keep the look softer on clients/models

Ty for leaving all the bits and clips of it not looking exactly right until u where finished. Most hooded eye tutorials with liner don’t leave in what it looks like before it is finished and looks good. Ty at least I know I’m human now and tbh my husband doesn’t notice when I change my hair color from blonde to honey brown so for him to say, “babe, wow ur eyes look great.” is a major win win for me (I created the graphic liner). He didn’t know what was different just impressed at how good my eyes looked so thank you so much great video 😉. Oh and I subscribed and liked 👍.

Try the korean style eyeliner where the line is straight and it just follows the natural lines you have i can see them I have the same eyeshape and what i do and tell people to do is just smile and draw over the natural line that you can see when you smile The line is more straight than up but that’s whats more suited to our eyeshape and it’s just so beautiful each eye have its kind of eyeliner
@TomFraserMUA2 жыл бұрын
I love korean style makeup it's so fab! Sadly my eyes these days have gotten a little heavier and the downturn is more clear, so when I smile, the line from the outside corner actually is in line with my lower lid eye bag!! If I do the straight liner, it looks JUST ok if im not smiling or moving my face, but I'm super expressive so it doesnt work for me sadly!

I'm so happy to see downturned/hooded eyes that actually have very little space in the outer corners! One of my fold goes all the way to the outer corner of my eye and I have marginally no lid space at all when I'm relaxing my eyes and looking straight (I'm 27, so it's all genetic). This technique kinda works on that eye too! Honestly, my hooded eyes have been one of my biggest insecurities, since the beauty standard nowadays is to have big, snatched eyes.
@TomFraserMUA3 жыл бұрын
It's really hard when you don't see yourself reflected in the media/advertising/social media, and I'm sorry the industry has made you feel insecure. I truly believe all eye shapes are beautiful and everyone deserves to feel GORGEOUS! Granted my fold doesn't go entirely past the outer corner, but as soon as I'm allowed models/people back in my house, I'll record a video showing you the best techniques for your eye shape, and hopefully that can help even more

@TomFraserMUA4 жыл бұрын
Aww thanks for watching and for the kind comments! Can definitely record a video on lashes at some point, but until then, just so you know, the general rule for hooded eyes is that you want your lashes to be longer in the middle than at the end. Most lashes are made with the focus on the outside corner because the cat eye is such a popular look, but when you bring the drama there for a hooded eye, it makes you look more sad/ downturned! xx

I can’t wait to try this! The crease of my eye goes past my lashes... I’ve given up on trying for a subtle winged look...but I have to try! How do you keep the shadow to stay on the upper lid’s waterline?

Yeah why not go large and in charge?!? The shadow staying is sort of dependent on how dry your eyes are I must say, but you can do the exact same thing with a longwear pencil... maybe a softer brown/ grey colour for a more natural vibe and black if you want it more punchy
