I consider myself lucky and enriched to have witnessed the Misfits twice, Samhain several times, and Danzig . . . I lost count. I also consider myself lucky to have grown adult sons who respect and enjoy some of Glenn's music! (Now I get to see what my grandkids think!) To remember how much crap I received from adults, heads/stoners, jocks, preppies(Boehmers they were called, as opposed to us towners) AND EVEN some fellow punks for being a huge fan of Glenn's. "Elvis" and/or "Morrison" were comparisons they attempted to disparage Glenn with! Ha! My standard reply "so 2 legends? that's your putdown?" Later I would smile inside and out when Johnny Cash and Roy Orbison would throw accolades at Glenn. Fuck man, the studio REQUESTED Glenn audition for the role of Wolverine!!! Even some suits from Hollywood offices thought Glenn was the closest thing to a mutant anti-hero! So, in my gray years I can snicker whenever I think of how many haters went at the man's throat, and in some way it's inspiring to see how he's endured and succeeded. In some way it makes me feel fucking great. Fucking Legend, man. 👹👍
