Dryer sheets are good for keeping mice out! And it leaves your RV smelling good!
@jeffl14993 ай бұрын
On your roof panels there’s is a product you squirt on the threads that drys so the nut doesn’t listen. Call Thread Lock. You can find it any automotive store. It dries to are hard plastic but you can still unscrew the nut if need be

put some rainx in the rinse water no water spots when it dries.
@davidcline95473 ай бұрын
You got to go to DI water system to wash and rinse!! I love it, no water spots, so no drying. The nuts on your solar panels maybe go to blue lock tight or a nut that uses lock tight.

My wife wipes down everything on the inside with peppermint oil to keep pests and mice out. I also agree on using antifreeze in water pipes just a cheap insurance. We buy out at the end of winter to use next winter.

7:00 -- many ways to fix ,, "ny-lock" nuts , spring washers , or loctite the bolts.
@infinityvideoprod3 ай бұрын
7:33 you should really use nylock nuts. Loctite is not the answer as it will be very difficult to remove if maintenance is required.

We have a 2011 Tiffin Phaeton and the bedroom had filthy carpet after yrs. Of putting resolve on it, basically scrubbing in the dirt. It was a light camel color. We took it to MS RV SOLUTIONS near Red Bay Alabama and had LVT Tile installed in the bedroom and bath last yr. We absolutely love it! They work on any brand coach or camper as does everyone in Red Bay, including Tiffin. I can send you photos if you have somewhere I can send them. Love your channel !

I am in the same camp as you with blowing the water out and then adding the RV antifreeze to the Journey. It just doesn't take that much longer to accomplish and gives you some peace of mind that your RV's plumbing system is protected. Here in OH winterizing is super important, as we can get some pretty cold winters. I have generated a list that is in OneNote, that I can print out for Winterizing and De-Wintering they motor home. Helps this seasoned mind to not forget a step! For mice we have had good success using dryer sheets in all the cabinets. Is it working? No way to know because we have never seen any evidence of mice being in the Motor Home. Our Journey is stored inside but it is in a rural area so I know there are mice in the area.

When my 2 boys were young, I took them into their bathroom and showed them their mess going down the sides of the toilet and around the rim, and I asked them if they would like to clean it up, they said no, and I said, I don’t either so, pay attention and make sure every drop makes it in the toilet or you will be the one cleaning it up. They knew I wasn’t bluffing. They are 20 & 24 now, and I’ve never had to worry about that “boy smell” in the bathroom since.

Triple protect your solar panels; keep and use your existing lock washers, use blue loktite on the bolt threads, and use a nylon locking nut. That SHOULD keep them from coming loose. Then.....check them over and over and again and again.

The only bad advice on winterizing was from Todd the RV guy on youtube. I have a small camper and usually only need a little over a gallon of antifreeze that I suck up through the water pump. Good thing the antifreeze is cheap because he said to put the antifreeze in the fresh water tank and run it through that way. I needed 4 gallons doing it that way. Remember to remove all liquid, Shampoo, mouth wash etc before the cold sets in.

I love the lock nut idea… but when installing I realized you should have gotten stainless steel lock nuts! I would replace them so they don’t rust with all the Florida sun and humidity. The old nuts were stainless steel for example. Just wanted to share to keep that RV beautiful

Blue lock tite would do it. Or nylock nüss. Only issue using those is if you stud isnt secure it could move on you. Another option is to double nut with lock tight.

Why not have tires on the concrete?
@GratefulGlamper3 ай бұрын
It can lead to the development of "flat spots" on the tire due to the hard, flat surface, which can potentially damage the tire and compromise its performance when used again. It's best to place the tires on top of a piece of wood, or other barrier rather than directly on the ground or concrete. This will help protect against excessive moisture gathering on the tires. The main thing is to protect against UV and moisture on the tires.
@PineGeri3 ай бұрын
@@GratefulGlamper Here’s our issue with that suggestion…we get snow. It piles up all around the coach. So…it will always be “in moisture.” This RV and 3 previous ones all sat in snow on the RV pad each winter..there is no roof covering it and RV covers are really not very good plus won’t protect tires.
