What i did to organize my kitchen area was gather everything together and toss out what i don't need, shocked at the stuff i had gotten rid of i never ever used, it opened up so much space and made my tiny kitchen way more easier to work in when i cook.

i've just started planning my tiny house adventure and really appreciate the lessons learned by people like you, who have worked hard and are willing to share all the information gathered from your own experiences. thank you for all of that. i totally understand what you mean about having half of your house be kitchen. i've been down-sizing for several months now and have come to realize that my wants and needs revolve around gardening and cooking. so my tiny house will need to be an eat-in kitchen with a bed in it and a bathroom.

Ariel! What an awesome kitchen! I do love to cook as well. That has always been a reservation of mine about tiny houses -- I feared I would no longer have a "full kitchen". Not a lot of counter space, but you make do! Awesome!

Hi Ariel, just like to mention your videos are very interesting, I enjoy watching the different things you do, the editing is like if I'm watching 📺 TV. Very informative and you have a great voice as well. I notice this is an older video because you don't have your new cabinets up. Just an observation lol 😄 sometimes as your narrating you say something funny and I find myself chuckling.. Lol 😁 Great looking kitchen, seems you have everything you need. Loved the picture of you when you were little and helping out your family, it seems you were taught well. Thank you for sharing your awesome kitchen and it's content. 😄😃

You have more cabinet space than me. Your kitchen area is about the same size as mine, if not bigger. Yours is much more organized and the cabinets are newer. You have more storage space for pots and pans. Wow. Nice going, Ariel, and good luck in your lovely little cozy, beautiful home. You are a good decorator, and your taste is excellent.

In prepping for my old age (maybe 10 years from now ? -- I am 72,) I have been trying to plan a tiny house to sit on my son's property so I can be near by and yet have a private space of my own. I got the biggest kick out of this particular video because when it came to background (cooking from scratch) and planning what you wanted in your kitchen, you sounded like me. My plans actually have room for my juicer, my food processor, and my Vita Mix. I am somewhat flexible on the toaster and coffee pot. In the case for the stove with oven and (in my case at least 3) burners, the double sink with two sizes of basins, and the full (but smaller) sized refrigerator, there can be no compromise. So having said all that, thank you for reaffirming that it is not all about being a minimalist, but it is about what is important to you. Personally, there will be NO wood chopping for me. :)
@FyNyth7 жыл бұрын
It sounds like you know what you want and that's a pretty good start! For me, since I dislike coffee and don't even enjoy the smell, that was not something I needed space for! :)

heya- I think cooking videos of you filming your creative intuitive and practical process of cooking would be awesome. I mostly cook this way as well but I know I sometimes lack inspiration and also could use help with certain types of cooking i.e. certain meats and proteins. Also the method by which you discern what you grow and then what you cook to sustain yourself-- and cooking as a single person vs. when entertaining. But even just a candid (not necessarily instructional) commentary capturing how you cook and the results would be cool-- thx;)

Great video. I was wondering what that noise is that comes up sometimes during this video as I can't figure out what it is, and also I was wondering how long your couch is after it transforms into a bed...can somebody 6 feet tall sleep on it without their legs hanging off the edge? Also I was wondering how much noise your generator makes that you can hear while in the house as I understand the generator is quite loud...are all generators super noisy?
@FyNyth7 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure what noise you are hearing. The creek is running louder outside with the snowmelt? And sometimes the camera's focusing mechanism makes an audible noise as it adjusts? The couch bed is just barely long enough for a 6 foot person. The generator is not that loud. I do have a box built around it. Check out my power system video tour for a better look at that. kzbin.info?o=U&video_id=HXyjZAbynIM

Hello,this was a very nice video. I was wondering with the size of your garden, how much is stored (ie jar canning, freezing etc). Your garden is large and the amount you store up for winter looks to be enough plus your trips to the store. Also have you ever thought of an electric pressure cooker? I know it might be a hit on you electric production but it saves me time cooking and keeps the nutrients of the food. I checked it on my solar system and my power storage/inverter was enough. Just a thought and offering up some advice for you. Stay safe and enjoy.
@FyNyth5 жыл бұрын
My garden is about 3000 square feet. However I do consume much more of the produce fresh. Anytime I have enough to have extra, I do can, ferment, freeze, or dry those things. No my tiny power system can't run any more electrical items.

Paper items go in the wood stove or compost. Glass and plastic containers are generally reused. The rest adds up to about half of a 13 gallon trash bag per week. And I share a trash pickup with several neighbors.

Are there recycling facilities reasonably close by? Or does your trash service also pick up recycling separately?
@keepitinteresting16137 жыл бұрын
Ariel C. McGlothin Very helpful to know. Thank you!
@FyNyth7 жыл бұрын
There are in the nearest town. However, our town is so remote and rural, making hauling bulky things somewhere too expensive, and most of the items people take to the recycling center (this is per a friend who worked there for several years) simply get dumped in the same landfill as other trash. So several years ago I stopped recycling via a recycling center. I do however use all paper/cardboard in either the compost or wood stove, reuse most glass containers, and even reuse most plastics to give away food. There's about half a 13 gallon trash bag of total trash a week from my house, that goes in trash service can I share with several neighbors.
