Please look into Catastrophic Health Care Insurance. A simple trip to the emergency room can cost thousands of dollars. Health Care costs are the #1 threat to your financial security. For some weird reason, hospitals charge more for uninsured people than those with insurance. I spent two weeks in the hospital and my bills were over $230,000.00. If I didn't have health insurance, I'd be homeless right now. Health problems can happen at any age.
@FyNyth6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your concern. I have looked many times and used to have such a plan. Since changes to the laws that all but outlawed such plans, I've not been able to find anything similar. If you know of a good option, I'd be very interested. There is now only one insurer in the state of WY, and they don't offer any kind of plan I'd consider truly catastrophic. I'd love something that let me pay for everything out of pocket up to $15,000 or $20,000 and then covered bills after that for a serious injury. Nothing else. I will not (personal beliefs and principles) sign up for any kind of insurance plan that is government sponsored or subsidized. No truly private insurers operate any longer in my state. I've looked at health sharing type plans as well, but they all include a requirement for some kind of church membership which I do not have. No insurance plan covers any kind of medical attention I would seek normally anyway, so it would be useless to me unless I had something like multiple broken bones and that is the kind of thing I would love to have a catastrophic plan for. If you know of anything like this, I would love to hear about it!

Ariel, Good video. My father would set aside an amount of money each month for car maintenance and when the car maintenance costs started to equal the amount that was set aside each month it was time to buy a new car. and he had enough to pay for the new car out of the maintenance fund. Before I was born he bought a used car from a little old lady from Pasadena. I like the flip phones. They are getting harder to get now days. You can find a lot of music on KZbin. My nephew finds full albums on KZbin.
@FyNyth6 жыл бұрын
Nice. I do like my flip phone. I find them pretty easy to find on E-Bay still. Last time I broke one (after years of use and being dropped etc.) I was able to get the same model refurbished and looking like new, for about $12 on E-Bay. KZbin can be good for music too. While I do enjoy music, I don't listen to much since I almost always have a book or podcast going because there are so many things I want to learn about! :)

Ariel, do you have some coverage for injury if someone hits you while you are in your car and you are injured, however seriously. I was significantly injured a couple years ago when a man in his late 70s or 80s drove into the back of my stopped car (waiting for a light to change) at 45 or 50 miles an hour. He was completely unrepentant or interested in any injury to me, bragging that he had no driver's license or auto insurance. My insurance company was not able to get anything from the individual he bragged that he was beyond the law. The attending officer called for an ambulance crew to check me; at the time I did not know that my right shoulder had been damaged and needed to visit my doctor the next day due to the pain. After the EMTs left, the officer told me that the man was a dead beat and too old to take to jail. Fortunately I had insurance that covered situations like this. It took 18 months of physical therapy - and not lifting anything over 10 pounds - to heal. Being right handed, that accident significantly stifled many things, including how much I drove anywhere other than to work. That accident is the only reason I have asked. : ) I have prayed that no one meets such a self-centered person like him because of his abject carelessness with other's lives.
@FyNyth6 жыл бұрын
Yeah, coverage on me or other people. And other people's cars. Just not my car. Sorry to hear about your nightmare! I hope you are fully recovered.
@sherrillsmith83806 жыл бұрын
Thanks, Ariel. I am grateful to God for being about 95% recovered. Sometimes there may not be 100% healing, which is why people may need to take another direction in their lives. When I see many who lose far more in auto accidents, it is impossible to complain about anything other than how this person may still be on the road and that the next time he might kill someone. I'm very glad to hear that you have protection for such issues. I have no doubt that you drive carefully, looking out for the many four-legged critters that might cross your path (as well as for the two-legged variety.)

Hey Ariel, as always such a great video and explanation. Love your truth. Was wondering if you’ve ever heard of “health shares”. I believe it’s a decent option for traditional medical insurance. I’ve been doing research on this option for when I retire early (hopefully). The group called Zion so far I believe may be the highest rated by users. Would be a great option and very low cost compared to tradition insurance and a great offer to peace of mind.

I just recently found ur channel and subscribed….I have been binge watching ur videos, especially the cooking ones….they r great….I really like this video and the previous one that explains ur expenses. I did the same break down concerning my most recent home move……I have one suggestion….and this is based on years of experience [I’m 63 yr’s old]. I really recommend looking into a medium deductible Health Savings Account….It’s a good way to build tax deferred money for health expenses. I remember my attitude concerning health insurance at [or about] ur age….same as urs……fortunately ~ 15 years ago my attitude toward health insurance changed………..That proved to be the right decision due to the need for heart surgery about 4 years ago.....I really don't want to sound like a 'parent', but this style of health insurance can save u from a catastrophic financial impact. Just a suggestion.
@annemumford94596 жыл бұрын
johnny mayo I agree. My husband has a heart condition. Multiple surgeries a about $100,000 per surgery. Thank God we have insurance or he'd be dead by now. I also knew someone that recently died from cancer, and he owed a bill at a hospital. His wife said they didn't want to treat him because of it. If you don't have insurance, some hospitals don't give a rat's patoot if you die on their doorstep.
@FyNyth6 жыл бұрын
Johnny, welcome! Thanks for joining the Fy Nyth Flock. I have thought about going that route, but when I looked into it, there seemed to be so many restrictions on the specific things you could use that money for, that I would be unable to use it for virtually any doctor or care I would ever use. So it seemed better to just go with my own savings so I can actually access my money for the treatments I would use. Thanks for the thoughts! Anne, sorry to hear of your husband's troubles. I hope he's feeling better!
@annemumford94596 жыл бұрын
Fy Nyth thank you. Yes, he's doing much better. He had no idea he had a problem. He'd felt dizzy, etc. Couple times prior to us getting together, but it passed and then he was fine. Just before we got married is when it escalated. His doctor said he's got the arteries of a 20 or. old. His problem is the electrical signals that regulate ear rate. But he does well on medication. He outworks people less than half his age. But something catastrophic can literally happen in a heartbeat - we found that out very quickly.
@johnnymayo85346 жыл бұрын
Anne…..glad to hear ur husband is doing well! Ariel….Just keep in mind that the primary purpose for insurance, regardless of type [health, vehicle, home] is not actually meant to cover what I call ‘daily use’….like Dr visits, repairing a dent in ur car, etc.……Yes, it will cover a portion of those expenses……but in the end u actually paid for those via your premiums….insurance is actually a hedge against catastrophic events…..serious medical [like heart, cancer, on-going medical treatment] loss of car or home. It simply prepares you finically to better cope w/ serious unexpected life occurrences……Example…~ 3 years ago, quit unexpectedly, I required heart surgery to replace a valve…..the total cost was in excess of 250K….fortunately, I had that in one of my accounts but using that money would have seriously crippled my retire plans to the extent of me not being able to retire until I was 70+….fortunately, I had insurance that covered all but my deductible…….Just something to think about…….OK….I’ll stop being a ‘parent’ now…..luv ur channel and am eagerly awaiting the next video!!!

What did you consider when buying internet access?
@FyNyth6 жыл бұрын
Availability. In my location there was only two options. Some kind of data plan with Verizon. No other carrier has coverage here. Only Hughes Net has satellite coverage in the area, but they require a two year commitment which seemed like a bad idea with a movable house, were way more expensive, and I've only heard of people who were very unhappy with them. No hardlines, other satellite companies, or cell companies service this spot. :)

@kariwick-InnerPeaceCoaching6 жыл бұрын
Logan Sherk I think the delivery cost was included in the original purchase price of her house, and I believe she has a video about that under “Tiny House Loan”???
@logansherk54556 жыл бұрын
Yeah I watched the video where she discussed that in her loan video. Thank you though :)
@FyNyth6 жыл бұрын
Yeah it was in that total, but the charge just for delivery was $1000. Tumbleweed basically charges $1000 for any state touching CO, $2000 for the states touching them, and so on out. Of course, some parts of WY are only an hour or so from where they are building. And I am pretty much as far away as you can possibly get and still be in WY, so I got a pretty good deal on that. :)
