I LOVE IT! I am a born and raised Canadian and you two have really nailed it! I watched your video while having my morning break and it was excellent! Yes, it is difficult to get a job here, so much paperwork and red tape - probably due to heavy employment regulation making everyone's life difficult - both the employers and the job seekers. I am a former business owner and I cannot agree more about your statements around "Canada limits you", "Canada doesn't want you to be rich", "Canada doesn't encourage business". This is my experience, however, many Canadians would be hurt by these statements, they don't want to believe them and they will defend the heavy taxation and regulation here. Canadians are defensive about comparison to the USA and they feel that life is superior here, north of the border. I have friends that are in business that have moved to the USA and they would NEVER return and try to run a business in Canada after experiencing the USA. Canada does limit your success and financial wealth, there is no doubt. There was a recent Financial Post article that listed products/services in Canada that were the most expensive in the world - housing, travel, cell phones etc. So, I agree as well that we have higher costs of living here. I grew up in small town Canada, 5 hours' drive from a city. The friendliness/snobbery has a city/rural divide. I think city living is more unfriendly than a small town. Is living in Canada worth the hype? I am not sure! I'm used to it, and don't know a lot else. Great video and content, and great energy!

Life is not about amassing money for yourself. What matters is for you to be able to pay your bills and live a comfortable life. If you are lucky to be super rich, good for you .Expectation of more wealth is the reason African countries are riddled with corruption and fraud. Do your work, pay your tax and get value for the tax paid is enough as far as I am concerned. A country where you pay tax but still have to install your own inverter to get electricity, sink borehole to get water and still pay big school fees but without value for it but instead strike and strike every now and then. You only know when you enter school but can’t guarantee your graduation date. Peaceful and comfortable life is good for me. Life is not about eating and drinking alone. Canada, here I come.

Young people are adventurous. They want to see the world outside of their parents' environment that they didn't chose to live in and that's a good thing because it shows drive and independence. The living at home until you get married isn't exciting or adventureous. Live your life on your terms is the new norm. Parents and family members want way too much power over the young people. Leave them alone already. If you raised them right, then you've done your job well and should trust that they'll make the right decicions on their own. They're not your property.

Now, my advice to people who wants to go to Canada 🍁, have 5 plus certifications, Professianal courses on top of your qualification if you don't want to do the low skill job like factories etc. You better driver, and if you got a higher category licence better. This will help bypass, silly barriers and jump straight to an opportunity, sometimes it is not that you not good at all, the truth is the corporate companies you will apply they are top, but they re cheap labour, they want to see if your equiped enough to be a slave that carries 3 peoples Job roles.

There are people who have a lot of money and celebrities in Nigeria who will never leave Nigeria to any other country. It's the average people that usually run from Nigeria expecting to see heaven in other countries only to get disappointed when all they have is snow and flowers.

Many rich people are leaving Nigeria now. Many houses in magodo are empty and under lock and keys. However all things being equal, Canada is much better in terms of safety. At least, nobody will kidnap you for ransom or something meaningless. No case of starvation for days. Omoh, Nigeria is worse now than ever before. Even the communal love and care that defined us and overall empathy is fast disappearing. People are fast becoming very sadistic and insensitive by turning pressing issues into jokes for all. Too sad. May we experience the beautiful part of Nigeria, May the evils of Nigeria not happen to any of us in Jesus name, Amen.

There's no such thing as 'the perfect' country! Every country on this planet has issues! But the way I see it, if you intend to emigrate to another country, and are willing to play by its rules, work your ass off, pay taxes and stay out of trouble then yes! You can make it work and live, potentially, anywhere. Also, each experience is different! Best advice is to visit a country first, on holiday, before you make such a Big Decision! But yes, there is no such thing as a Free Lunch! And unfortunately, a lot of Western countries are becoming more and more reserved and conservative! Because immigration and emigration are hot, controversial topics!
@lylesmith86322 жыл бұрын
That is weird. I work with people from all over the world. They like Canada 🇨🇦. It sounds like some are just bias towards Canadians and Canada. That is too bad. @@lylesmith8632 Canada has its fair share of problems but, out of the countries I've visited thus far, Canada is definitely one of the nicest! Canadians, by and large, are sooo chillaxed! However, as with lots of other countries, I did see homeless immigrants on the streets begging... So I guess if this problem continues, I fear that, in time, some Canadians will become just as openly bigoted as some Americans, British, Europeans and Australians... Rampant immigration does have a tendency to stretch the tolerances, good will and patience of a country. So can you really blame them?

I appreciate some of your points and perspective, but I also think in some cases you need to step up... seems like maybe (to a degree) you expect a lot to come to you. Make more effort on your part to bridge those gaps. Find out what non Nigerian Canadians do when the clubs close. You certainly seem outgoing enough... use that. Most Canadians don't want to impose... let others do their thing is the motto, but that doesn't mean they will automatically shut you down if you are being genuinely friendly. This respect of space is both good and bad... I personally appreciate it a lot and think it has more benefits than drawbacks, but an outgoing person like you would have no problem making friends if you really tried and are genuinely nice. It could lead to getting invited to after parties, drinks in the park, camping trips and barbecues. Hell, I would certainly gladly chat with you for a bit and get to know you at least, and differences in culture would not be a barrier. We would decide from there. You mention that you ended up socializing with mostly Nigerian friends... that is maybe partly you just going the easiest route as well, so you can't lay it all on everyone else. As for fashion sense... well, fashion exists in its place... most places, who really gives a f^(%... why should you?) Casual and relaxed is a value Canadians pick up on. it is its own fashion sense. if you choose to not go that route it is hardly a barrier, but maybe try it out. You might discover it has its benefits. Certainly some people I know like to get dressd to the nines... I don't think it ever held them back. You are fee to do as you want. Anyway, i did enjoy your vid... some interesting thoughts there. Maybe with that energy and an end to Covid you can discover a new level of engagement in Canada and find a bit more of what you had hoped to experience. I hope so. Many others have had a lot of fun and found the friend group they desired... how do you think you heard those things if there was NO truth to them. And if such a group doesn't fall in your lap, make one. It might take some work... most things do. Anyway, best of wishes and a good life. As a Canadian living abroad extended term in a much harder country to socialize in (Korea) I can certainly understand your feelings... it can seem frustrating and pointless at times. All I can say is expectations can often be the real problem. If you find you hit barriers, as the newcomer it really is going to fall more on you to figure it out.

Didn’t enjoy Toronto clubs like the vibes in the Caribbean and Africa….I also agree with the Girls in the video We are in Toronto more stuck up and Guarded in comparison to other countries like Even New York where ppl are more open and outgoing (Friendlier)

In Canda Spring Summer and Fall is nice but alot of people like winter. Their is Skating, Hockey, Skiing. Tobogganing. Snowmobiling. Ice fishing. Hiking. And much more. Alot of Canadians like winter. 👍 you have to dress for it. Alot of Canadians like it when it snows on Xmas day. The north part of the states get the same weather. I know alot of people from all over the world that say they love it in Canada 🇨🇦.

@engrpj4all173 жыл бұрын
Talking about job search and it's difficulties, what's the practice of Architecture like over there.. am an Architect here (Nigeria) with over 4-5 year's working experience and am planning to relocate to Canada as a permanent resident. Thereafter some work period, I will embark on education.. #second Master's degree. What do you think Queen?... would love to know!!!..
@Ntaman82092 жыл бұрын
If u don't have canadian experience, your chances of getting a job as an architect is slim to none despite your 4-5 yrs experience. U may have to get certifications and also start afresh again.

What are you worried about dating in Canada 🇨🇦. It the same as any were. What do you think 🤔 people do. They get out. Not everyone needs computers and cell phones for dating 🙄. But Canada has that. Same as the States. The only difference is Canada's money 💰 looks different. Canada and USA politicians are different too. Basically the same. People worry to much about dating. If you want to meet some one maybe go out with some friends and have a good time but don't worry about it.

sorry everything you say about Canada, is exactly what you can say about any country. The UK if you live in London is expensive, just like any city in any country. People in UK France, Spain, are no different to Canada, it all depends on who you meet and where you go. That is life just as it will be from your home land.... just like for things to do, there are, but you do not need to stay in Toronto to do so... there is Provincial Parks, Niagra, Long Saulte, etc.... Canada country side parks are vass. To that this is your expereince and that does not mean that is how everyone feels, its personal. Just like living in London, i gave that a go, I lasted 1 year and hated it, like headless sheep, but north of the UK is not perfect just smaller, but there is plenty to do... but staying in the city and looking is not a fair opionion
