I think to the right of the couch is totally perfect! It can kind of serve as a visual divider between the living room and the dining space! Especially if you move it all way to the right/to the edge of the step - Then you can still have a lil side table for a true living room feel ❤

Love the new couch!!!! The scale works so much better. Also, I agree, move the bookcase to the right of the TV into that corner. It currently feels "heavy" and placing it next to the TV will balance it. You could also move the arched mirror onto the wall where your bar cart is... it would reflect the amazing window light and brighten an otherwise dark kitchen. Then maybe move your accent chair across from the couch (near the stairs) to create a natural conversation circle between the sitting areas ♥

I would move the shelf to the right of the couch as you suggested, and then you could center the couch with the painting above it and switch the lamp to where the shelf was before. Getting rid of the ottoman and keeping the couch and the chair would also create more space and make it look less big, but I totally get it if you want to keep it for extra seating!
