Was a CIWS work center sup on USS Decatur (DDG-73). I know this ship inside and out. This video is legit but also missed a kot on daily life.

That's known as practice. And you do need to practice to be any good.

Yet they could never find our sub unless hit the hull to give them a chance.

@@blaizeburley8673 These are facts. I have tracked them better than they tracked us. Sonar and radar. Thermocline layer.

@@dangermouse9494The targets always whistle past the graveyard. Subs just have massive, inherent advantages. We were in a battle group being hunted by 3 surface ships and a helo-dropped active sono-buoy. We still won.

@@nicklockard I had a P4 msg that the only thing that caught us was a P-3 at 8hz. He replied: Surprise! with a periscope picture of the Battle Group Carrier dead to right in his scope. Water slug, but snap shot tubes one and two. Meaning our sub just sunk an aircraft carrier unknown to EVERYthing else and our CO had the balls to send you pictures first.

@@blaizeburley8673That's not a joke. US subs scared me. I was on USS Decatur (DDG-73) and we could never figure out the location of our subs. I stood watch on our 5 inch FLIR in CIC and could spot a periscope like a pro but in modern days, it's too late at that point.
