Oh Alfy, at this point I can't even say that you make nice videos. You create a blood pressure lowering, emotion calming, mood altering, sailing ambiance. The Northern Dancer V is just stunning with her gorgeous new, crisp, clean, pristine sails and every detail is manicured with the exception of the bottom of your dingy which just verifies to all of us grateful viewers that this is indeed real and not a dream. Thank You so much for creating these works of art. What you do here is so much more than making videos and your talents don't receive the fair and most deserving level of accolades. Another great video! You have the best camera angles. The shot looking back from the bowsprit while under sail is really cool. Also, no ads, sets you way above and beyond other channels! Great video Alfie,brings back some memories,i spent 10 days years ago on a dive boat docked in the inner harbour in Victoria.A city full of history for sure! I remember the brick streets which i was told came there as ballast on the old sailing ships.Thanks for sharing i really enjoy your videos of beautiful BC..stay safe and happy sailing!

Really great content, Alfie. My wife is from Victoria (Cadboro Bay!), and we’ve spent many days there. This summer we’re headed out on a road trip to the East Cost (where I’m originally from), so it was good to see your scenes of a relatively mellow and uncrowded Victoria waterfront. Really enjoy your vids-been following you for years. Don’t change anything. However you could add one thing - a better mic. The sound sometimes is weak and requires the volume to be increased a lot to hear you talk and even then it’s difficult to clearly hear. Thanks for all the effort required to put your videos together. Much appreciated.

The Hans C paints a pretty picture underway with sails drawing. It makes me smile to see blue painters tape for the varnish work. I have been sailing my sharpie for more than twenty-two years in FL and often have tape on something, but the sailing must go on.

Looks like she sails beautifully. I've been meaning to ask how you tie-off your dock lines on the cleat haws pipes. We have the same arrangement on our boat. I'm comfortable with regular cleats, but but I don't my method of securing lines to this type of open cleat. Are there any tips you can share? Thanks, and sail-on!

She really does love 10+ knots of breeze and moderate sea conditions. :). I have eye splices on the end of my dock lines and the eye is big enough to loop over each hook on the inner side of the haws pipe. I hope that helps?

So nice to see Victoria harbour again. I drove cab weekends going to U Vic and the bus station then, 1980, was right on the harbour. So I spent a lot of time by the Inner Harbour and at The Empress etc. Many changes.

Beautiful sailing, beautiful boat. I wish I could keep up to my bright work. When you're applying your ten coats of varnish, do you sand between coats at all?

Thank you and my recipe is for 12 coats, and I use maroon scotchbright pads between coats and usually one good sanding with 120 grit or 150 grit about coat 6 or 7 to knock it down and smooth it out a little. :)
