Your Northern Dancer has got to be one of the best looking boats ever! I love the fact that she's a ketch and her history is also special. Enjoy Alfie.

Thanks for your lovely videos - I’m so envious of you with your beautiful boat there. Makes me very homesick for the west coast of BC! I’ve always wanted to visit Haida Gawaii, and have decided to treat myself with a quiet sailing tour of its east coast in June! Cheers from Switzerland .

You are welcome and we are so glad to hear you enjoy seeing our adventures through our lens. That sounds like an amazing trip for you in June, and I lived on Haida Gwaii for a few years many years ago, and it a wonderful place! I hope you have a great time!! Fair winds from Canada's West Coast.

Amazing Video! I like the boat very much, its classic lines and the wooden parts. And the scenery is great too. My sailing season in Germany is starting on Easter Monday with watering the boat. I‘m glad that the winter is over and spring is coming! 😍 Happy sailing!

Thank you for your comment and so glad you enjoy seeing our adventures through our lens! We just make these for fun so you will never see drama or ads, although I see KZbin has put ads on many of our older videos once they have been up for a while. Not sure how they get away with that considering we have specifically y un-monetized all our content and collect zero $ from KZbin. At least the viewers get ad free for the first while it appears. :)

Thank you and we enjoy doing all we can to make Norther Dancer V be her best. The Gemini hardware is really great and if you are in Canada they can be purchased through JT Fabrics in Ontario. Ya that barge was not far off from dumping the load of logs into the ocean, but I didn't have time to stick around for that to happen.

Your channel beautifully captures the essence of sailing - the freedom, the challenges, and the sheer exhilaration of being at one with the sea. Alfie, I always enjoy your episodes, especially your photographs. I'm not sure why, but I think part of it is the composition of your shots. Something I aspire to but rarely succeed at. I have a question for you. Have you considered using lithium batteries? I know the initial cost can be high, but with their longer lifespan, higher usable capacity, and lighter weight, they seem like they would be a good fit for your off-grid aspirations. As a final thought in every episode Northern Dancer V seems to look better and better, particularly the varnish, definitely a labour of love 😇
@lifeislikesailing8 ай бұрын
So glad you enjoy seeing our adventures through our lens. :) I have considered lithium, but our AGM batteries are still fairly new so no point in replacing them just yet. We will re-visit best options when the day comes to replace them fore sure. Northern Dancer V definitely is a labour of love, and I love getting her all varnished and looking her best, it is like therapy. :)

The last time I was in that area was the summer of 1987. Just graduated college and was touring on my bicycle from Seattle through the San Juan islands to Vancouver Island and Victoria, before crossing to Port Angeles, then over the Olympic Peninsula and south to San Francisco. But the PNW was my favorite part of the journey and still holds a special place in my heart. I look forward to future vids. Thank you, and sail-on!
