Ive read the comics, idk if this is the same Max from those comics but her timeline jumping powers are present in the comic. Theres a timeline where Max, Rachel, Chloe meet then theres one where Max and Chloe dad die in the same crash. Basically, they can change anything they want with the story really. Such is life when the multiverse is a plot device

Maybe this is the timeline that branched off from the original timeline when Max tried to escape the Dark Room. Her photo won the contest and she was invited to go in San Francisco with the Principal. The storm still hit Arcadia Bay but Chloe was left in there as well. She died from the storm while Max was in San Francisco. In LIS 1 though, Max obviously went back and fixed it but maybe doing so resulted in another version of her failing to rewind and couldn't save Chloe.

Not to mention that this is a story based game and they have stood by the players past decisions in the past, so theres no precedent that they should do it for this one either.

I love how they did amazing job at keeping the Life is Strange “vibe” the feeelsss! The only familiar face is Max in this game, and everyone is new even the environment, I mean even max looks different with the new style, new attitude (more confident) and her face too but from 12:47. It exactly feels like playing life is strange 1 with her exploring the school campus and messing with Victoria and stuff. I missed the acoustic song aesthetic of LiS!! Cant wait!

I couldn't be more hyped for this game!! i've been waiting for a Life Is Strange max sequel since i first finished playing the original game and now that is at long last happening (the comic book sequel to LIS1 is awesome AF and will always be a great alternate timeline sequel but i have a feeling Double Exposure's story is going to be even better than the comic books) first october 2024 promises us Silent Hill 2's remake and now it promises a new Life Is Strange game featuring the time warrior herself returning as the protagonist.......nothing but peak storytelling for this year's october

My theory is that the asteroid will be the next disaster. Originally, the asteroid is on its own path, flying past the Earth without any issues. But when Max starts to use her power to open new timeline, the asteroid would then change its course and head towards the Earth. The more Max uses her power, the more the asteroid's trajectory will be changed and eventually, the disaster cannot be stopped.
