Here we go!!! These always take me FOREVER but I truly love doing them. Did 1 for Life Is Strange 1 a few weeks back if you want to check that out! But hope you enjoy this one!!!

Kinda crazy how the whole game takes place on a campus, and not once do we get to see any of these characters (who are apparently teachers here) give a lecture. We don't even see a classroom. In fact Max appears to have absolutely no educational responsibilities at all. Does she even have an office? She kinda just comes off as a random person who wanders around the campus.

Max seems to have a type; she is still fixated on bad girls like Safi, it was random and strange that she could kiss to others in game, that almost are like side characters with no plot to them at all thought out the game. I also noticed that she feels more like a college student than a teacher and looks more like one if it was not for those forehead Rinkles on max, she seems like kid maybe college level smart but not grow up like a teacher personality was not there, it feels like they just hired her because of the photo skills maybe since it didn't feel like she could grade or write papers on her own, I mean they even gave her a dark room for her photo's I think if anything she was just a photo teacher but nothing more than that skill wise, I didn't feel like double exposure did their plot great in that aspect of it. but around the college campus what I found neither interesting nor funny was the tablet with the audio recording jokes. In the game, they included poor-quality poop jokes around the area where you get the hot cocoa. I did not buy any of the addons for this game. It is just left with no one around it, which feels odd. It is strange that Amanda would have left her tablet in that area without any explanation. The game does not provide any context for presence. It as if they are saying, "Here, Max, listen to audio recordings of us talking about poop in bathrooms and clogging the sinks with poop then she goes on in audio to talk about that a few different recordings were left in the game around that area." They made really bad poop jokes and included them in the disc version. I assume it is also in the digital version, but I received the double exposure disc version of the game for Christmas. It not something you would want your parents to hear while you are playing "Life is Strange" in your bedroom with your soundbar 5.1 device. I think the jokes are for a few people that find that stuff funny, I sorry but I did not find it funny, to even listen too when it started to get very weird or strange I just moved max away from the playback device in game. it might have been connected to when max talks to Amanda in bar, about having to use bathroom if it was a number 1 or 5 level bathroom need, maybe but still strange that she would of just left it there, I don't remember if audio recording was in alive world or dead world in game. I don't even know if I used my Bluetooth ear pods, if I wanted to listen to the full recordings, sometimes in games audio recordings are fine, but I didn't feel the need or want to listen. are poop jokes by girls considered woke or not, in any case, it was just bad. I don't mind the different bathroom signs, but really why did they include those bad poop jokes in the game, I only could listen to it until it got very bad, with their words, I would rather play a new game with whatever Choe is doing, also they could have provided a better picture of her or rendering of her, if you're playing, she lived plot in this game. I think Safi is the new Choe, yes, max replaced one bad girl for another one. talk about bad habits. the fact that max could date and kiss both the guy and girl and both of them from different worlds would get mad at her over it, but really, doesn't max have morels about doing stuff like that but the game lets you go there anyway, is that a woke thing? it bugs me that they felt the need to give max forehead Rinkles in her skin, why did they do that? yes, the some of the games choices felt pointless. aren't girls like put skin stuff on their faces for stuff like that, I mean really why did they give her such dry skin problems in double exposure? I think she got tired of Chloe caring about her skin, not that that ever happened but really that was a strange rendering of her forehead, I noticed it while playing on my series x console version of this game. maybe the addons and choices like to her outfit fixed that since I don't own them, I don't know but its noticeable in the basic outfits the game gives you for free. it's like max's self-care might be improved with the outfit costumes she gets but I do not know for sure. sure, this game has its problems, I guess parts of it were too woke, or bad jokes included about pooping in audio recordings in game, that must have gotten away from the developers, as it seems like the company should not have included that, since its low quality jokes. also, that might explain why she wears that orange hat besides the cold snow, maybe it dries out skin more, since we don't get much snow here, maybe like two days or a week at all during this month, otherwise I don't see snow much, and last year we got no snow at home. the whole wale or dead animals and global warming didn't feel like this time, they had it connected to their powers or any animals dying I guess the new game forgot about it. besides a twister I felt it was lacking on the world around her, since it was already snowing, I guess a summertime affect was too much to ask for. also did they forget that max jumped into a different world in the original game, where Chloe was disabled in a wheelchair, I kind of felt like the new max forgot all about that in this game. the game needs more work to it. I am not feeling like buying a 20 dollar addon for just petting cats, I can pet real cats at home, no need for that in a video game addon, they should of given us a side plot with whatever Choe was doing while max was like doing this, they could of released something the fans of life is strange would of rathered played, than 2 parts with cats, and some outfits, also 20 dollars for outfits no thank you, I wait until its like 5 dollars or something like that if and when the price goes down.

What disappoints me is that Max is a teacher yet doesn’t have a single scene of her teaching. It would’ve been really cool if the intro of the game started in a classroom similar to LIS 1. Would’ve also been cool to see how she teaches compared to Mark Jefferson. Huge missed opportunity.

LiS has basically become "lets charge 50-60 bucks to use the same few locations over and over to save money and effort" Even True Colors only gave you like 1 street across 5 episodes for the same price. LiS 2 at least had unique settings for each episode. Deck Nine seem to just specialize in cheaping out with the scope of their games

@@Devol101 Don't confuse quality with quantity. LIS DE has some of the best areas of the series. Also BTS reused areas from the first. DE has more areas than TC.

This was a really good recap. Also it's weird realizing how many choices in the game either end up having the same result or barely any impact, especially when you compare it to LIS1.

After playing true colors and now this, I now realize that I was way too harsh on LIS2. Compared to true colors which was an extremely boring game LIS2 is a "masterpiece". With that being said I did enjoy this game more than true colors, however double exposure is just a bad game.

Quantumlight-y5qy5q Never said LIS2 was bad, I sad I was a little too harsh on it in my initial walkthrough. True colors was a really bad game, double exposure is a bad game.

This makes me happy to hear as someone who loved LiS1, LOVED LiS2, and was incredibly disappointed by True Colors and Double Exposure lol. I always thought that LiS 2 got so much undeserved hate.

Max is an adorable character, but this honestly should have been Safi’s story to tell, not Max’s. Safi has a very interesting situation that would have made a better story: Safi feels guilty about not standing up for her friend Maya when she was younger and is now trying to make amends by publishing her book about her friend and telling the truth about what happened. However, everyone at the university is trying to thwart that opportunity in order to protect their jobs and cover their own asses. Now Safi has to use her shapeshifting ability to combat her way through the petty bureaucracy of the school in order to expose Lucas. Safi has to wrestle between obeying her controlling mother and her need to stand up for her friends as well as herself. The writers had a chance to build a storyline that tackles themes like “ manipulation “, honesty”, and “ inferiority “, making Safi a uniquely complex character that struggles with assertiveness and honesty because of her demanding mother, even when she’s an adult with a job! Safi could have been a very important addition to the LIS series, but instead they made her just another Chloe substitute with a childish “ We are Gods!!” mentality that wrecks that character arc.

extremely well said. the first 3 chapters were GREAT. 4&5 fell so hard & so fast .. i really really wanted to like this game, especially considering the fact that i spent $80 on it .😭

Did anyone get WHY Safis body turned into flowers? Or what exactly it was that freaked Reggie out? Safi or another echo like Alderman? Or in Episode 4, what did Lucas say to scare Vinh? And what did he say to Safi before she went bananas?

I personally feel with this game they should have made Safi the protagonist. It would have been more interesting to see the game mechanics if it was her. Even more so a better plot in my opinion. While I do love Max I'm upset the choices with her don't even matter, nor do I feel the consequences were there in a way?? Or perhaps they felt diluted..?? Not dure how to explain it. Those are my thoughts.....I'm kinda upset this game turned out the way it did.

I know you have other videos on the ending but I’m still not sure how to feel about it. On one hand, I definitely dislike the franchisey avengers/xmen style ending because I find it overdone and cringey to leave an ongoing story on such a definitive note. Ideally, I would like to debate the big choice within the community and have questions about where we go from here. I don’t really have questions, the ending in that regard is pretty simple and doesn’t make me want to debate or think more on much of anything. But, I do love the storm and I love how Max helps Safi find her way through it. I also love Safi’s character revelations under duress and how she quickly forgets because, unlike Max, she didn’t end up having to make any hard decisions to end the storm. The entire thing is her fault, but Max is the one who fixes everything. It makes sense to me that Safi, no longer under duress and free from the trauma of responsibility, would quickly backpedal because she is clearly still angry even after the storm and she did not have to take responsibility for her actions. She takes so little responsibility that she runs away from her problems. I believe this is a setup for a future game where Safi is either the main protagonist or antagonist, and this is an interesting question to me that makes the ending feel a little bit more satisfying. But the avengers thing is so puke ewwwwwww why can’t Safi just run off into the sunset with no clear intentions.

Its not the Avenegers, but they set up an issue with Safi that Max cannot and even should not fix. With Erika Mori actually contributing to this game, I really do think they at least bring back Alex, as with in her character, she has far better chance to address Safi's issues as she has a similar background. Bring in Steph to, as Max's LIS1 choice impacted Steph as well.

@ I agree but with a slightly different perspective. Max as a character has a tendency to be nosey and involve herself in things, so it makes sense that she would try and protect Safi from befalling the same fate as she did in Arcadia Bay (even if morally and logically, it’s not her place). I think the game goes very far to show us how deeply this experience affected Max, how it still haunts her. Max is still grieving, still traumatized, and she isn’t perfect. I don’t think that Max was the wrong protagonist here, I just wish the game focused more on her growth instead of defining Safi for future games. It doesn’t feel like Max is the protagonist by the end because she doesn’t really resolve a lot of these feelings. Stopping another storm doesn’t empower Max like they think, and it doesn’t logically conclude her arc. The storm is about accepting responsibility, but this isn’t even Max’s storm. I think it would have been empowering for Max to accept whatever Safi decides because it’s her storm, to respect that Safi needs to make her own decisions. This would bring a lot more power to the final decision of sticking with or cutting ties with Safi.

@@xXHollysoxXx Max did grow, she no longer lets her past define her. She takes a very big step in this game. In fact, I think the first game FAILED to develop her really. Is she over what happened? No, but it no longer controls her. Max does say in the end that she cannot help her or wonders if she will change, depending on your choice. So ,while her actions in the game are very much on character and she is right to fix as much as she does, as a white woman with no family trauma, she is not right to fully address Safi's issues. It is Alex, who is not white and did have family problems, as well as being an empath, is the better choice to finish Safi's story.

Just finished this game and loved every second of it .. I don’t understand the criticism .. I think people just enjoy disliking things

Ok this is pretty simple. So let me start by saying i got early access and I loved the first 2 chapters. First 2 chapters without context is better than all of True Colors. But it falls apart after awhile. Some decisions are meaningless, Some characters are useless to the story. Tell me now what Loretta and Reggie add to the story that would've changed anything had they not been there? What consequences does Saving Aldermen or letting him die make other than Moses now has white hair? Also what was that Alderman even there? Wasn't he from Living world? Why would he be there for Safi if she wasn't going to die in that world because Safi dying was due to the time loop ripple effect of her losing control of her powers and Max being forced to shoot her to stop her? Everything implies dead world is actually the alternate, Not the original. it's the fracture that happened because of what happens to original Max and Safi. What happened there must've caused max so much emotional turmoil it Jump started her powers again and caused an alternate timeline. By the end, Safi is literally Magneto. Max is Charles. Except Magneto is trying to start the X-Men for nefarious purposes. It's probably gonna be something Corny where she gets a bunch of people with powers that are emotionally weak to try and be gods and Max teams up with the protagonists of the other games and it ends with Alex using her super empathy powers to help Max talk Safi down from her new God complex. The game feels claustrophobic, the majority takes place in like 2 spaces, The University or The Turtle. And after awhile it's just boring to go there. The Owl is never explained. The butterfly is supposed to be a representation of Chloe, The Doe is Rachel Amber, So is the Owl supposed to be Safi? Was it supposed to be Maya Okada? Max wears an owl pin.... It was never made clear. Also I know people think the Doe is Max's spirit animal but I think we can rule that out because why then would it not be in this game? The way this game handles Chloe is poor, If you're willing to 9/11 an entire town for your love interest, There should be no fight that could break them up. That and so much more, Just wasted potential.
