This channel is really helpful to me. I'm new to this work, just started out on my own with a reduced packet. Some days go by real nice and some days (like today) I was so frustrated my head almost exploded. I'll hang in there, though, and hopefully it gets easier the more I learn..

That MoCa filter can go almost anywhere depending on the job type. MDU's mainly, an UG's with a direct line into an apartment to the wall plate, or the famous Sunday locked Data Room I'll put a MoCa on the wall plate if I can if it's not gonna impair it. And also I put a MoCa on the ground block and the AMP before to get the boxes working. Crazy jobs. A lot of jobs now, that are simple modem jobs, just enable to MoCa if have none, but the ground block will get hit for bad QC. Then new MoCa ground blocks are only good for homes to me. People out then anywhere though like regular MoCa's on MDU's and etc. Most jobs be merely taking off the MoCa ground block putting on regular ground blocks if you have one, and then putting MoCa's on the splitters. It really depends on the button pushers (TSC). TSC jobs are like non-existent. People in a whole other country will be up at 5AM for your slide to 7 walking you through provisioning and equipment add/remove issues. I feel like I gotta go to their country to do TSC. I probably did a few TSC customer jobs not knowing and they only said they work from home. Them platinum customer jobs. The ones where they go outside with you, and be holding the flash light under the crawl space with you. They be the TSC. But how do I get a TSC position? Techs would love me, because I'm helpful as ever. I don't try techs I just help them. They might have families to feed.

Yeah those Technicolor xb3s used to kill Moca. And there was no way to turn it off because it would turn back on. We would swap them with arris modems.

Moca filter: as long as phy rates (which run on pht in moca section) are above 200 can go anywhere. However compliance says they go at ground block

I’m a fiber optic tech and have never worked with coax. It’s funny how coax loses so much signal over small spans while I’ve had to run over 1500ft drops of fiber to homes and lose barely anything. It’s not fun running long ass drops because I live and work In the boonies dealing with so many trees lol. Keep up the work tho man, enjoy the vids

As for the moca filter only one can be used. Also, the stinger points into the gb, (its directional).

In the company I work for we alway place the moca filter at the house box connect it to the end of the drop then connect to ground block and/or splitters. So first thing in the box is drop then moca then everything else.

If you have a wireless box , you do not have to turn on the moca, I know they say you do but it works only off wifi not the moca. Different story for the xids, we started the all wireless system here in Northern California.

I've put in the MoCa filter in where the situation dictates, I.e. if its underground/com's box/ tap room it would go there or if there's a house box then at the main splitter, but hey, each company has its policies and procedures so. Whatever works bro. I enjoy the vids. Keep doing your thing. I'm a tech in the Caribbean.

@@cabletech2371 Yea i am in Florida we had tech cancel on us with out calling us saying we canceled last week with a cut in the wire because they saw we had one put in 2 months before that & saw we asked for RG11 wire saying we do that when talking to home base. Then next appointment the app said they where here so looked outside for 10 mins called the number for service they said that just means there on there way. So that was at like 3:30 pm then at 4:40pm watching out the window again i see a blur of xfinty truck go by at like 45 miles & hour all most hit my dads truck driving so fast in the development my dad was oh good they i said no they where siting up the street hiding lol. So i called they said the tech was there I was no he just drove by fast ha. I said this is the second time we had notes in that said knock on the door wire has cut in it on the drop in the yard even showed them pics at the store they said again the tech said you just had new wire put in that is why he must have drove off i was like what. Next guy came I feel lucky I was outside talking to the Neighbors at the time or he might have just left to who knows ha. So here it seem like you have to chop your wire in half to get them to see you have no signal. Even if it is only cut that will let ingress get in the line. Got the new rg6 they run away all that night still dropping out just a heads up to all people that get Arris S33 they like to drop out at like 35dBmV to 38dBmV on the upstream when so many techs say that is fine it is not they like 45 dBmV to 54 dBmV like there website says. So to fix i added a 3db pad to the back of the modem that will take away from the downstream & boost the upstream to like 43dBmV or so never drops out anymore before for it was like every 15-30 minutes. That or you can fix it with a forward path return amp to do the same thing. Theses new modems are super picky. If it is low on the upstream You will get a lot of T3 disconnects & other errors. I think so many return equipment thinking there broken but if there not in proper spec or the tech has heard about this most here will just say 36dBmV fine & go on there way & your problem will come right back. So sorry for the long rant might help you or others fix there problems with their not xfinty brand Technicolor based modems. Yep Florida super bad indeed. Keep being you love your videos & how genuine you are & that you care about your work. ✌❤

@@digitaltactics9234 For upstream the lower the number the better. Anything over 50 and you'll have issues. 38 is an excellent upstream value. Sorry you had a bad experience. There are good techs and bad techs. I'm a good tech and make sure my customers are always taken care of. What part of FL are you in?
@Grozloo
@Grozloo 2 ай бұрын
@@MickyTicky2x4 Not totally true, lower upstream is more susceptible to ingress, generally the mid 40s is good but up to 51 is fine. Having closer to 50 makes the CPE more resilient to noise in the network.

BRIS book last i checked says POE filter goes at the groundblock (QC guys will fail you if it isnt there anyway,depending on the area you work) working on bigger houses its good to be on the main splitter (basement attic wherever) cause MOCA loses signal over distance just like regular signal and PHT will fail on MOCA if all the boxes arent getting good signal to each other. im talking like 10 bedroom houses at that point though. from what i hear they used to say just always put it on the tap but thatll cause the port to break off real easy so at least put it on a jumper if youre doing that

@cabletech2371
@cabletech2371 3 жыл бұрын
They only way to fix high upstream levels is to eliminate a splitter or summit a ticket if the upstream is high at the pole... the more splitter you use the higher your upstream will be
@cabletech2371
@cabletech2371 3 жыл бұрын
Now for low upstream you can either put in a spitter in with unused ports terminated or an antenuator if your at a job with high or low up stream it’s much easier to get a reading at the tap first or at least the ground block so you now what signals your dealing with
