Keith's vocals changed long before he became Mina. Already on 'ugly' (1995!) the singing style was quite different from River Runs Red. Not so deep but more natural sounding, good but in a different way.

The vocals haven't been like this for 20 years. Whilst they were never as deep as the first two albums, they still had that tonal quality which seems to have gone now and I imagine would be difficult to do again with a changed vocal register.
