@@jain78343 That just makes you look like a chump who can be taken advantage of easily. If you must work for free, try volunteering for a charity. Otherwise, education as well as other workplace experience is a good thing too, but the main thing is making that good impression - A lot harder to do nowadays unfortunately, given many jobs want you to apply online.

When I went to school in my mid to late teens (equivalent to a mix of high school, college and trade school), my classmates would cheat on tests, steal my books, lie about others, kiss the teacher's behind, try to give other people bad self esteem, copy each others work without permission, steal ideas and a lot of other awful behavior. These people grow up and become adults, and they might change for the better, but some just get more subtle and better at doing it quietly.

Anyone who does exemplary work WILL end up pirated and plagiarized. It's just how humanity rolls. Monkey see, monkey do, and monkey take full credit for "inventing" the ideas themselves. 😂 It's embarrassing, but hey... that's how many, many, MANY folks roll. I still remember this one dude who tried to claim that he'd invented "reverse sound" by flipping a speaker backwards. If you know anything about sound, resonance, and waveforms... ummm... yeah, I don't need to explain it, lol. 🙄

I commute around 80+km everyday back and forth for internship and I work for 12 hours in order for me to already finish my Internship. The company that I've been in was great its just the transportation that I'm struggling so hard. In those months I have only 5-6 hours of sleep and I always got a brainfog during work. You don't need an internship. Corporate culture often sucks. If you're hardworking and mind your own business, they might perceive you as lacking communication skills. Don't get involved in their petty jokes. Office employees often use interns to do boring tasks and then steal the credit. I personally dislike interns who try to act cool and think they know everything. I will suggest build connections with professionals in your field on Twitter, learn and share your knowledge publicly, and consider freelancing. Escape the corporate grind and wage slavery by building your own agency.

My internship taught me so much that I literally still keep the notebook from it in my bag at work today. It was like school plus work that taught me more than I even needed for my current job. It sucked ass to work for free and drive an hour each way(plus gas costs). But it also had lessons and homework plus practical, oral and written tests. There were multiple mentors who were actively trying to teach me stuff when they had a chance and I knew what I was supposed to do if everyone was too busy to teach me. If they actually have a plan to teach you something then it’s definitely worth it, if they treat you as a slave well…

What sucks about internships is that besides being unpaid, many times internships are needed to pad the resume as work experience to hopefully then land a real full time job with a paid salary and benefits, because many jobs nowadays needs lots of work experiences to even get the foot in the door. The dilemma of "I need a job but the job requires experience", so therefore I guess that's why unpaid internships exists.

Bit of a "meh" ending. A more accurate ending would have been the manager receiving all of the credit and Wojak being cut loose at the end of the internship when it comes to actually paying him a full wage. 4:15 That interaction was so familiar, it's ridiculous. I used to do some substitution gigs (like being a poorly paid intern but with 0% chance of getting hired. I'm just there to cover for someone who is on temporary leave), and no one ever wanted to talk or get to know me because they knew I'd be out again soon, so it's no use becoming friends with me. Most of the time people pretended I wasn't even there, literally didn't even look my way or say hi. Working as a substitute was the most lonely work I've ever done. You just get thrown around like a hot potato, from company to company to company, spending a few weeks or months in each place, and no one wants to talk with you.

Was an intern for 6 months. No pay at all and i ended up giving my own money which I've made at weekend jobs. At 4th month i stopped working at all since i was feeling very anxious and sad spending my own money and getting nothing... Fortunately i have finished my internship!

Can relate...Moral of the story: Never try to make friends in the workplace. Just assuming everybody there is asshole, ask more but don't tell others much of your own infos. Always Be Careful when talking with your colleagues.

I loved how they called my internships "work-study programs." "Good work, Drake!" "Thank you, sir!" "You should be paid for it, but hard work is its own reward." *Makes red, angry, tearful Wojak face.*

Man I remembered when I had my internship almost ten years ago at this church as a graphic designer, legitimately some of the most passive aggressive people I’ve ever met, I even got ripped a new one on my birthday for being late and they turned around and threw me a “birthday party” I hated interning so much 😒

@@Novastar.SaberCombat they definitely was I even remembered when I overheard a pastor saying we need to watch out for these Muslims, mind you, this was around 2015, so tensions were already running high, I hated interning there honestly
