@@SpaceBethC131 Unless your spouse gets pregnant and ends up with an ectopic pregnancy. (A very common, and easily resolved medical issue that doctors learned to treat in the 19th century...) unfortunately people with no medical training are making decisions as to what a doctor may or may not do in such a case. Doctors are so afraid to lose their livelihood that women are nearly bleeding to death because of confusion about what doctors can do. There are many lawsuits from women that were treated so poorly, that they will likely never be able to have kids again. I'll stick to places that offer medical care that protects everyone equally.

It’s hard if you don’t make enough to hardly get by, to pack up a family and just move. Where do you go, where will your next job be, how much school will the kids miss, do I even have the money for gas to get me out of the state and feed us?

It's impossible to do that when you're poor. Leaving the state because you don't like the laws is extreme privilege. All women should have the same rights in this country no matter where they live or what their socioeconomic situation is.

If a D&C isn’t “done anymore” because they’re used to terminate a pregnancy - even though Kash had just birthed a living child - what would have happened to me when I needed one because of a questionable thickened endometrium, even though I was aged in my 70s? Actually, she's correct. The standard to do a D&C is set so high that it's effectively banned until you are literally dying and by then it could be too late.
@ladylaurus8493Ай бұрын
That medical procedure is banned in Texas unless the woman is nearly dead
@jercasgavАй бұрын
They are refusing women D&Cs until they are dying or close to it due to the literal wording of the law made by non medical, religious people. This means an infected uterus that needs a hysterectomy or is so scarred the woman can never have children or try again. Or that they have complications and organ damage from a close call with sepsis. Or requiring a lengthy hospital stay and incredibly strong doses of IV antibiotics that are not exactly easy on the body to clear an infection that got worse than it needed to with delayed care, and more etc. It is absolutely disgusting that religious zealots without medical training in OB/GYN are making decisions like this when they don't know much if anything about how dangerous pregnancy and childbirth still are for women. Leave being a medical provider to the actual docs and nurses...and let the patients have autonomy and choice. The rates of women requiring D&C for retained placental components after a normal childbirth at term, or needing one for a totally natural miscarriage are quite high. Women don't die in childbirth like they did in the past due to new tech and rapidly responding to these types of situations. All this law is doing is increasing the maternal death rate.
