Absolutely! As much as it felt like bad timing, it would have been worse to put off going to the doctor and sometimes life just throws all the curveballs at once. I feel like we’ve learned to handle the unexpected much better! Xx

Dear Erin! Some suggestions: Get a good landscaping company to keep ahead of the trees and cut them back in the right time. When you have your home driveway and walkway power washed annually do low pressure on the tile roof. These things can be hard to learn for each home. I hope things are smooth from here on and that the wall doesn’t have a problem. You have really been through it.

These are great tips! We had our trees trimmed last September and I think we can do 25% each year so it’s probably time to see if we can cut them back again. Our roofer recommended we have the debris cleaned monthly so that may be the best option until we can figure out a long term solution. I’d like to see if we can get approved to remove the tree but it’s unlikely. Still worth a shot considering the damage it’s causing! Thats my next battle lol xx

Erin, you’ll be fine with the squamous. It will be taken care of and it won’t affect you adversely. You’ll be needing more frequent body checks for a few years though just in case. Please, please be at ease. My husband had three show up over 5 years and then none in the past 4 years so back to only yearly checks. I wish when we went through it we wouldn’t have panicked needlessly so I am stressing this to ease your mind. You’re good and it’s literally no big deal. By the way, my husband was born in Miami, a real native, in the Coral Gables area.

Wow! I was apprehensive about the Tirtir colour but the concealer really completed the base really nicely.

It turned out ok with the rest of the makeup. The shade is maybe a bit yellow but with a fresh sunless tan it looks really nice. I wore it again today and for $12 it’s not bad at all! Xx

i’ve learned (the hard way like u) to never trust word of mouth from other subcontractors or ppl in the business. there really isn’t any ethics or pride in one’s work in that industry these days. so much shoddy work and poor/no communication. i’m so sorry to hear about the carcinoma. i’m so happy ur taking care of it early & that it’s a carcinoma not a melanoma

Hi Erin. I, too, have a skin Carcinoma and live in Tenerife. Its very worrying but am waiting for the operation any time now. The good news is that once you have skin cancer, you have regular revisions with the Dermatologist. I wish you lots of good luck and a speedy recovery. Great video! Big hugs.

Happy Birthday and good luck with your surgery. I’ve had Moh’s 3 times- 3 basil cell carcinomas- 2 on my nose and 1 on my cheek. The basil cell and squamous are really slow growing. You are in good hands and I’m sure they will take great care of you. They should give you a lot of info at the appointment and good instructions for after. It is pretty easy.

Erin you are so adorable! God bless you! My brother had skin cancer on his shoulder. It turned out to be bad, but they did catch it in time. He has to go see an oncologist every 6 months for a check up. He is doing great and is very mindful of the sunscreen. House issues are such a pain in the butt. Make sure you have a home warranty. Also, am glad doc got your SCC early, I had a BCC skin cancer and that was next to my eye when I was so young, was operated on by a cosmetic surgeon as it was in a precarious spot. I am so impressed your dermatologist could see you so quickly. I had to wait six months to see mine, and she would not do a full body check at my follow up. I would have had to make another appointment! Not too happy with the state of health care these days.

Hey Lovely…just wanted to wish you a speedy recovery. I work for a facial plastic surgeon and we do a lot of reconstructive surgery after the patient has had their Mohs surgery. So I know you the anxiety you are having but I pray that everything goes well❤

Thank you so much Amanda! It was this morning and it went really well. I actually rescheduled with a different office after getting a Dr. recommendation so I felt more comfortable. The wound isn't pretty but once the stitches come out it should heal fine. I'm lucky it was an easy spot to remove, now I'll never take hats and sunscreen for granted! I'm sure working in an office you've seen it all! xx

I live in SW Florida and am much older than you and on my 3rd home. The problem even with "good" contractors it just takes one bad worker to mess up a job. That happened with our brand new roof - two leaks before it was finally fixed. Sigh. BTW, I used to go to the original Rao's in NYC often. I had a business associate that had a standing reservation. It's legendary - read up on it. I even have 2 autographed cookbooks from the owner who sadly passed away a few years ago. Will say a prayer that all goes well with the surgery.

Happy belated birthday! When my children were little I put a double layer of sunscreen on them at the beach which they hated. They are in their early twenties now and I was so happy to see them being diligent with their sunscreen application at the beach this year. Prayers for complete healing for you.

So glad you caught it early. I’m due to see my dermatologist for my annual. I’m a 17 year breast cancer survivor. Early detection and prevention is so vital and follow your gut. I’ve lived in Florida my entire life and I’m 41 years old. I’ve had so many moles cut off my body that look questionable. Never had actual skin cancer, but a lot were going through cell change so I’m glad I ended up having them removed. Keep getting skin check every six months! ❤

Happy Belated fabulous lady. Ugh, so sorry to hear about this ongoing house issue. Hopefully this is it and no more leaks! Question for you, when you had the home inspection before you bought your house, why the inspector not mention the instability of the roof? I think you might have mentioned this in a previous video, but man, it would have saved you so many headaches if he alerted you. Just sounds like a nightmare. I'm also so sorry to hear about your cancer diagnosis! Thank God you caught it when you did! I'm sure all will be ok. No need to worry. I have a suggestion, record your meeting with the oncologist. These appointments can be overwhelming and you might find you'll have more questions when you leave or think to yourself "wait, what did he/she say about______?" Trust me it happens all the time. If you record the audio on your phone or hand held recorder, you have everything there you can refer back to. I've had cancer twice and this was the best thing I ever did. I love your life catchups and your vlogs, so wonderful to hear whats going on in your world. Please do more :) Oh and lastly, can you do a home decor update? Would love to see what else you have done to your lovely home! 🎂

Happy belated birthday Erin! I’m sorry to hear about the carcinoma. It is great that you’re attentive and spotted it early and that you have a good gut felling. Some tips about doctors visits; sit down and write down every and any questions you might have - come prepared! If it’s possible bring a friend with you! It’s sometimes scary and nerve wracking to go to the doctor, and from my own experiences it’s sometimes hard to listen and remember what is said. I deal with a chronic illness and I never go alone. I hope that you are well now and everything has been taken care of! 💕

I hate that I can relate to this. We built a dream house years ago with a walk out basement that flooded every time it rained. We lost the entire basement 3 times and then had to deal with flooding like 20 times. We sold the house 7 years ago and when it rains I initially get nervous and then I remember I don’t live there anymore. I am sorry you have this issue. I completely sympathize 😢

Oh my goodness I’m so sorry!! The worst thing ever lol the exact same thing happened to me when I bought my first house and was living on my own. It was so overwhelming and there could be a couple of different factors into whatever repair needs to be done so it’s always so hard to feel like you’re making the right call😅

I hope everything has gone well with your ear freckle. Here in Greece because of the sun many people have carcinomas but they are not careful with taking precautions and using SPF. About roof leaks? Oh, I have had the exact issues with you. In fact it was like I was talking and not you. I bring someone to blow all the pine leaves from the roof away because it is dangerous to get on the roof myself. I could do it but I need someone to hold the ladder properly. Also there is a leak from the bottom of a sun window which ends on the floor so there is some water on the floor if it rains hard. We have never been able to find where from. It has been like that for the past 30 years or more. But it is just little so I have a small carpet by the floor on that window. Big house many problems this is how it goes. Hope you have fixed everything by now and you do not have any more problems xx

I’m seeing a plastic surgeon for the removal of a BCC. I noticed a small patch on my nose that wasn’t healing and went to a skin doctor. Similar to your story I’ve been referred on for day surgery. Best wishes for your surgery.

Wow Erin, In Canada you would have recourse with that house sale as none of that was new and the sellers had to know about it. did you have. house inspection? Im so sorry you've had to go through this. Bless your heart Erin, I hope this squamous cell is totally removed and that the rest of your year is much more positive. Here in Miami, almost everyone will find one, it's important to always get checked. It's not even about now, it was our entire life of sun. If you keep up with the check ups, that'd as far as that will go, also very good meds now for even the worst of skin cancers, which you don't have.

Happy birthday Erin! OMG! Still problems with your house? I feel the last owners were not very transparent with you guys I am very sorry. You are really gaining experience for the next house. Older house are nice but you always need to change something. Always. That is why not I live in a new condo unit and I love it! I encourage you to take some time off Erin and relax. You look beautiful and you will be fine but it's so great that you were proactive:) Also, did you wear the Tir Tir multiple times at all? I had bought it and i liked the finish and wear but after a day or 2 of wearing it i broke out.
