Been an RN for almost 19 years. I did not pass my exit exam the first time. I also got a C in Peds and ended up being a peds nurse for 16 years. Don’t get discouraged. Nursing school is hard! You got this.

Dear Kayleigh, I never really comment on videos but I just wanted you to know that I have been watching your videos since your curly hair tutorials when I was just 13/14 years old. It has been incredible to see your growth in all the different stages of your life, and this stage is no different. I can relate to a lot of what you described as I am now 25 and in my third year of medical school, dealing with a lot of the same feelings. I know this path is quite the rollercoaster but you have already come so far and you WILL be an amazing nurse, thanking yourself that you made these sacrifices. Sending you lots of love!

ICU nurse here and now recently completed my masters and now work as an acute care NP! Trust me girl, you get so caught up in the grades and wanting to get honors , etc. Easier said than done but honestly just do try your best to pass/decent grades and that’s good enough. Your grades have nothing to do with how well you’ll exceed in nursing in real life. You learn EVERYTHING on the job during orientation and then every single day from then on. You’ll never stop learning and nursing school will NEVER prepare anyone for the real work. So don’t be so hard on yourself, relax! You got this! Nursing is truly all heart and you have the heart for this

Hi Kayleigh, I’ve missed you and just saw you put a new video out..I’m 2 weeks late. 😮 lol I had to stop the video at 2:35 to tell you, You’re vulnerable about your struggles and mental health and that is so motivating because you are able to pick yourself up and keep going. Yes, you’re facing challenges but look how far you’ve come. Super inspiring! I have no doubt in my mind that you will pull yourself out of this rut and get back to exercising and eating better. I’ve followed you since 2013, have practically grown up with you, and am so proud of you! Keep going! You’re almost there! ❤

I have been an RN for 28 years. I remember nursing school being very hard and staying up till 3am making my care plans, med cards etc then getting up at 5:30am to drive over an hour away to my clinical site. It's physically and mentally draining. My very last semester I tried to cram 3 clinicals just so I could graduate with my class. I was always an A/B student... well my very last semester sucked for me. Not only was I cramming all those classes in but my mother got diagnosed with terminal lung cancer and passed away that year. Also my fiance of 7 years cheated on me and we broke off our engagement (plus working as a nurse extern every weekend). Life sucked then... I remember because of the stress I missed my psych exit exam by 2 points. Only 2 mere questions and I explained everything that I was going thru to my instructors. My school was so strict that they still wouldn't pass me therefore I couldn't graduate with my fellow classmates. All my other classes I did fine in even. But I went another semester to take that one class over again. I chose not to attend my graduation ceremony. I went on for my BSN and have been a clinical nurse manager for years. Even been a Director of Nursing for a couple of years. I found that those hard times made me stronger as a nurse and able to handle stressful situations better. Hang in there girl. You can do it! Have faith. 🙏 BTW take your state exam as soon as possible once you graduate. I waited 6 months after finishing school (but had to because all the stressors in my life). I was the very first class to take the exam on the computer (yeah that long ago 🤣).. the computer shut off at 76 questions. I was so nervous thinking I either did really bad or really good. Thank goodness it was the latter.

Kayleigh, I'm so happy you're back. I have followed you for so many years and I cannot wait for this new chapter for you. Nursing school creates the worst habits of making you compare yourself to every other student. I learned to just go to my exams right before the exam and leave right after instead of hanging around and chatting before and after. I couldn't deal with listening to everyone talk about their grades 24/7, I just wanted to pass & get through. You are SO close!!

Hi Kayleigh, have definitely missed seeing you on here! One thing, there is nothing wrong with you. You are doing so well and NEVER, talk down about yourself. I know that everyone does this, but it shows how much you care. Next time if you need to shop for a suit, I would recommend going to either Banana Republic or Ann Taylor. These two stores might be some where that you wouldn't shop, I know I don't very much unless I need a top and suit pants. You got this okay. Keep going, you have come so far!

Retired RN here (UK) - I trained 31 years ago and I failed my finals first time. I found that the best place to learn was on the hospital wards. Everything becomes instinct -- believe me. Please don't be discouraged by exam results - nursing is the most rewarding career out there. I was training to be a midwife in 2004 when I had to medically retire. I miss nursing so much but, I'm still in touch with all my old colleagues and nurses that I trained with x

Hi Kayleigh, I didn’t go through nursing school but I did go through dental hygiene school, which I’ve heard is a somewhat similar experience. I also felt like my whole life revolved around school and passing all of my exams during my two years in the program. Stressing so much it literally felt like I was carrying a huge boulder on my shoulders everyday. But in my last quarter in my program I had a change in my perspective and tried to incorporate what I loved to do as much as I could during my breaks, and sacrificed my grades (slightly) for my mental health. Which meant if I knew I studied all I could for this exam then I’m going to sleep at 11 instead of trying to grind until 1am. Sneaking in walks and hikes with my dog in between my rotations to dental clinics. Skipping out on school related volunteer days if it meant I could just do something NOT school related for myself. I felt guilty but at the same time I had to prioritize myself or else I could feel I was losing it 😅 It was still a lot of work to manage my schedule but I was much happier and healthier by doing so. Good luck!

ICU nurse here. Girl, nursing school is a different beast that no one can understand; it takes everything. NEVER compare yourself to others. Your life & career will take you in the right direction with time based on YOU and not on standardized school tests. I failed a semester in nursing school and they tried to kick me out. I fought tooth and nails, got reinstated, passed the NCLEX with flying colours even tho I failed all the practice exams. I am now a charge nurse in an ICU, and a regional Nursing Union rep. The opportunities are endless. Life will get you to the right place. (P.S. when you get to questions for them, think about asking the specific department/ward's turnover rate of staff). The light is already at the end of the tunnel. It's YOU time now. Take care of yourself and stay true to who you are ❤️ we really missed you here! 🤗

I have followed you for years, and I know life has taken it turns and changes but I still love to see where you are in life. School is stressful but it’s rewarding reaching your goals. I remember those days getting my masters degree. You are doing great! And your rocked that pink blazer.

Girl, i clicked on your video so fast. I've been following you on here since as long as I can remember. I think since maybe high school? That was 2009-2012. I'm just happy to see your face again and I know you can do this!

Im not a nurse but I know exactly what you mean when you feel like you’re not good enough. It happens to everyone at some point in life but don’t worry baby girl everything will be okay. Time will pass and this hardship will be worth it at the end. Keep going as long as you feel it’s the right thing to do. ❤❤❤❤

So happy to see an update from you!! 💕 Check out the Kaplan series for test taking strategies…. Chances are, you know the material itself because it sounds like you’re definitely focused and putting the time in. Kaplan teaches you how to answer the questions rather than just testing your knowledge. In addition to that, I recommend doing as many practice questions as you can! This got me through both my NCLEX and my NP boards.❤ You’re going to do great! 🥰

Kayleigh, I am so happy for you! You have no idea how much I’ve thought about you, especially in the past few days. I have a friend that is in your same cohort and it brings me so much joy that you’re here in Florida pursing your passion. I’ve watched you since your first videos and you were always my favorite and the one KZbinr I could relate to the most. I wish you the ultimate best! And I hope you could be my nurse one day, if you like L&D. 🤣💗
