Hi Lisa, I'm so sorry to hear you've been going through all of this. It was after losing my daughter due to a "Doctor's" incorrect advice as well as personal experiences of my own that I realized I had to be an advocate for myself. Because of that I have probably saved my own life on multiple occasions, including once due to taking Levothyroxine for hypothyroidism. I started having horrific side effects including symptom's of an oncoming heart attack when my heart was in good shape, heart palpitations and so so much more. They couldn't figure it out and it took my researching to discover the problem (I was for whatever reason having side effects from the Levothyroxine). Anyway, one thing I discovered in my research was that some medications can actually cause Hypothyroidism which can be reversed upon getting off of those medications such as long term opioid usage. I have Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrom as well as a whole host of other chronic pain issues due to orthopedic issues (arthritis, injuries to back from past automobile accidents etc) and struggle with pretty severe chronic pain so that was why I took the pain meds for so long. Anyway, I had been wanting to get off of them for years. I finally took myself off of the meds after about 17 years of being on them, and not only did my thyroid levels go back to normal, but my pain decreased, so for those who have thyroid issues, research any medications for a possible cause, especially if you have to use opioids for Chronic pain. Also, Opioids will actually increase the pain. Once I got off of them and got through any withdrawls my pain levels and flare up's decreased dramatically. Like literally unbelievably so. I rarely have major flareups any longer and when I do they don't last long. By the way I'm sorry this is so long.

Check out "Stop The Thyroid Madness" it can be very helpful, yes Covid can wake up dormant viruses (like EBV, which most of us have been exposed to as kids) as well as other nasty stomach bugs (like Candida, etc.) the Lyme protocol from Dr Buhner can help with live virus hanging around. I tested "normal" with a huge goiter on my neck so I don't take the usual tests for thyroid seriously anymore, I am now healed with Ayurvedic diet and herbs.

I suffered from tons of autoimmune diseases while being on a plant-based diet. I was in and out of doctors and hospitals. In the process, I had over 15 surgeries from 2012-2020, which resulted in the loss of my stomach, gallbladder, and vagus nerve severed in an esophageal surgery due to a botched hernia mesh surgery. Went through years of pain and suffering. I kept researching carnivore diets, which is totally against what I believed. I read many testimonials and had a friend who healed from MS eating a carnivore diet. I reluctantly tried it little by little, and my health wholly transformed. Plant-based foods are very high in oxalates, which can harm our bodies because of toxins released in the plants and vegetables. I am still learning this process, and it's been a hard transition. Still, I've never felt better, and my blood work for the first time is all in the green normal range, the inflammation in my body is gone, my lupus numbers are normal, my fibromyalgia pain is gone, inflammatory makers are all normal I have tons of energy, and I lost weight. I am by no means trying to push any diet as I used to eat a heavy plant-based diet, but with research, inner work, and lots of prayers, this was presented to me, and it helped me in ways I never thought. My hair has grown, my skin is brighter, menopause is controlled, and my libido is back, I don't have acid reflux, and I am slowly getting my life back. Research research, research to find your healing. These doctors are indoctrinated and paid for by big Pharma. You are beautiful, Lisa. Keep shining and fighting for your health!

That is what I think, if you have immunity problems, cancer, or any chronic disease that affect your hair, coloring will be detrimental to the health of the hair. My instinct reaction will be to detoxify, stop coloring, go as natural as possible. Any hair color, one more than others will have chemicals that don’t belong to the hair follicles. It will have been easier since the demarcation was not that obvious to keep growing the natural color without doing anything else than have to touch roots every 4-6 weeks. I am hoping the color was not permanent so you don’t have to start from zero again. If you really want to grow your natural grey hair don’t wait for conditions to be perfect, there is always something.

I went to my doctor last Monday. She wanted to check my thyroid and also suggested anxiety medication, along with over-the-counter medicine for acid reflex. I ended up in the ER Tuesday because I thought I was having a heart attack but it ended up being acid reflux, thank goodness. I looked in my portal at my recent labs and saw my TSH was high, 7.1 on Levothyroxine. Never heard from my doctor, so I called today and they want to increase my dose. Very disappointing that I had to reach out and advocate. Most, if not all my symptoms are because of my thyroid levels being high.

Not getting your hormones back after a hysterectomy is like a male having his testicles removed!!!! Find a menopause specialist. They are educated in hormones after hysterectomy. You can bet a man can get T levels checked and be put on testosterone by any Dr. Frustrating:*(

I've had unbelievable GI issues including H Pylori. The horrible bloating and looking pregnant. The unbelievable pain. I'm on 4 anti-GERD medications. I had an MGB (reversible gastric bypass) 15 years ago, several mesh-repaired hernias, and can not move my bowels without a laxative. I have several very rare autoimmune diseases that have caused detrimental damage. I've been all over the country for treatment including Mayo and Johns Hopkins. I am so grateful for your discussion about Sibo. I've already messaged my Dr. for a Sibo test. You may have just helped me to feel better! Something I never anticipate anymore.....and no, you can never give up. You must advocate for yourself and keep going. Im 12 years of dealing with all of these issues with more coming all the time. You have to keep going! Thank you, Lisa.

So glad to see you back Lisa..Im. so sorry you have gone through all of this, but glad you are getting some answers. I am dealing with a low thyroid but it onky showed up on my last test. She also measured my vitamin D and found it was severely low. I will have it measured again after this two months supply. Also, I guess my Dr..may do the Colenoscopy different but I was awake and talking to the Dr. and nurses and watching the screen the whole time. I may have been on a light sedation but found it to be very easy and just a light pressure. If you have had 3 babies the pain from colonoscopy is almost nothing. Hope we will see you back soon. Take it easy and get well soon!!❤🎉

It is so frustrating and I'm hoping it's a beginning to helping to figure things out for her. I'm glad to are feeling better and it's great to see you back.

Lisa do you think that being vegan has to do with the issues that you are having? Perhaps upping your intake protein can help. I know you will research the different types of protein you need. I'm sure you checked your red blood cell count. So glad you are feeling better and you look good! Helping each other out and I thank you. Are you allergic to dairy? greek yogurt is a great probiotic and no soy!!!! BTW vegan keto is definitely not the same as a regular ketogenic diet. Two different animals , regular keto depends on animal protein and very low carb veggies to keep that carb count low. Not preaching just clarifying terminology. Keep going! Cheers

Glad you’re feeling better Lisa! 💯 right that we have to advocate for ourselves and keep researching and searching for answers. One thing I wanted to add is that I think the issue with blood clotting with taking estrogen is with the oral form. In a transdermal form that is not supposed to be an issue. And Estrogen is actually heart protective. Transdermal meaning through the skin. Patch, cream. or pellets. Progesterone can be taken orally at night as it helps with sleep. Mine is a compounded RX in a capsule. And yes if you have a uterus you must take progesterone . Testosterone replacement helps with energy, retaining and building muscle and sex drive.

Progesterone taken orally after menopause can cause problems with your teeth and gums. I found that out the hard way. I'd been seeing an endocrinologist who had prescribed me topical estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone. I felt like a completely different person. Felt like I was 21 again. Had no problems whatsoever. She left my state to work elsewhere, and I had to switch doctors. The new doctor insisted that I switch the progesterone to oral rather than transdermal. I didn't know any better at the time, so I agreed to try it. Within the first week I was experiencing extreme gum and tooth pain. It wasn't just isolated to one tooth or gum area like a normal abcess. It was my entire mouth. Long story short, as it was very long, I finally ended up at a periodontist. He was the wisest man I ever met and was actually the one professional who I saw who was able to tell me what was ruining my mouth. It was from taking the progesterone orally instead of transdermal application. So, if anyone out there has any type of gum or teeth issues before during or after menopause, and you're taking progesterone orally, it could cause you to potentially lose your teeth. Once the periodontist explained this to me, I contacted the doctor who had made me switch methods. She said she'd do some research into as she had never heard about it before. She called me back a few days later and told me I was correct and thanked me for educating her. My post was not to disagree with what you posted, but to state my experience with what you posted. I'm guessing taking oral progesterone would not be the correct method for everyone. Everyone should see their own doctors and decide what method is best and safe for them. 👌

I have Hashimoto's and also going through menopause, can definitely relate to a lot of what you are saying. The thing with Soya is that if you eat it close to when you take your thyroid medication it inhibits the absorption of the medication. Same with caffeine by the way. I personally can't tolerate either. A great book which has really helped: Hashimotos Protocol by Isabella Wentz. You're right keep advocating for yourself until things are right, no we are not depressed, just badly treated!

I know it’s just my opinion- but- I’ve followed you for a really long time. You’ve changed your hair many times. You look gorgeous with silver hair. I grew my hair out( silver+ dark grey now) + yes,I look different, but so what!! I get so many compliments on my hair!! I think until you really come to terms with aging( it sucks for sure!) + realize how great you can look with your natural hair color( took me a long time to change my thinking+ gain confidence in going out with long layered silver hair. Btw- I’ve had metastatic thyroid cancer. I have hypo thyroid cause my dr wants me to stay cancer free. ( been 18 yrs now) Also went thru breast cancer. I have IBS, IBD, neuropathy, severe spine problems + have had sepsis( thru to my bones requiring surgery) total shoulder replacement surgeries etc. I could actually write a book on the journey thru hell I’ve gone on. It took me 2 yrs of begging drs to ck my thyroid. Was lied to- got so sick I honestly thought I was dying. Finally thru being my own patient advocate I went thru 2 surgeries + treatment for metastasis for 3 yrs. They say what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger!! Women do not realize that the medical community in this country is not there to help you. If you don’t be persistent ( almost bitch like unfortunately) you will never get better. Getting older is not for the weak at heart. I hope you persist in your health issues. And- I hope that you realize how beautiful + important a person you are( with or without a man in your life!) + look in the mirror + see a gorgeous woman with long beautiful silver hair!!!! 💓💓💓- sorry this is so long!!
