That feeling of "going blank" is almost worse than the feeling of having too much on your mind. But it should be taken as a gift, a call to recollect. Take some time to think things over and how to go forward.

My Overview of video: As we grow old we stop thinking about things and remember about our old experiences and assume. Actually what we should do is experience the whole thing once again and not assume about a thing, that it is like this and that. This helps us being in the present.

Same, so true. Also the video made me contemplate how the place where we live and our culture don't alterate our deep human problems and needs. we need to fulfill the same things, wherever and whenever, we just do it in different ways. Vero, verissimo.

I've realized that the longer time spent on screens, the less enjoyable the present life experience is. Due to that dopamine rush you get when scrolling through reels and photos of other people, or through fighting dragons and saving people in the virtual world, the actual reality becomes relatively boring for you and you get disconnected from yourself- your alive self - which causes this feeling of numbness. No wonder why we keep hearing that staying inside a lot, especially on the screens, is causing us depression. If you're not in contact with reality and enjoyiing- or at least going through the human experience- everyday- lacking a sense of community- lacking a sense of purpose, then it follows that most likely your mental and emotional health will suffer and thus, your mind will activate its coping mechanism

i really needed this today. my anxiety also causes me to rush on a regular basis, kind of as a default/baseline. this video reminded me that i haven’t been stopping to look at the little things lately. it’s advice i give to everyone, to look at the tiny details as simple as the joint where two pieces of a handrail are welded together, the connection point of moss on a building or a mushroom on a tree, or the individual grains that make up a small pinch of sand or dirt, or even the stitching on my shirt or coat. it really creates a sense of peace to look at all the tiny things that make up the world and whenever i stop prioritizing looking at these things, i start to get anxious and tense and i start avoiding things that would help me slow down and be at peace. it’s a really important concept to put into practice

Powerful video! One of the worst things about feeling numb is that you feel so hopeless, pathetic and useless. Like you can't stay focused on one thing and get really upset about it, because you know deep down how bad you feel. You'll try to read or watch something and find it really hard to stay invested in it because you feel so numb.👋

It actually doesn´t matter where you are in the world (and yes I´ve traveled extensively), you can have the same in the US if you adapt the same instead of all these hustle, grinding, keeping up with the joneses and so on, we have so much in the US that people don´t stop and smell the roses because of it. Being too busy debating who´s right or wrong politically, religious, things that really DON`T matter. Go to the grand canyon, visit non touristic places there...Anyone thought of Alaska?....That´s what people do from the countries you are visiting.

Great video cole! One thing I learn is that you never know how life might change but you have to be ready at all times. I just had an opportunity to connect with the live action actor for One Piece. Im just an average guy who went to med school but somehow a girl in my class knows him pretty well. So he came down just for the fun of it. All of my insecurities came out of me and I was a nervous wreck who couldn't even look him in the eye. Luckily he was very personable and overlook it. But i realized after that, i needed to get my crap together or else i can ruin potentially great relationships

I do need some outer perspectives from a community that does care, so i can avoid falling back into my negative spirals that brought forth depression, alcoholism, and homelessness. I think you're doing something genuinely good here. Thank you for taking time to read these comments Cole. Sadly very briefly after I got my first real paycheck. My relationship fell apart. I was living in a hotel with my partner, on a weekly lease. I had relapsed and battled that with myself, and my partner. I just paid off our debt, and got into the positive, and then I was broken up with and kicked out. I was stranded in a little valley with a string of towns with no resources. So I went back "home" but have no support structures here. And I've been rotting away in my van everyday since Nov 12th. I'm going to seek treatment for my addiction and mental health but I've made 50+ non emergency calls in the last 2 weeks to seek that treatment. I get the run around cause my insurance is in the other state, but they don't have much to help there. Regardless of my entire situation, I looked at your Patreon, and almost bought the $50 package. But that's 3/4 of a tank of gas, so I needed one more paycheck. And then all that happened. I look forward to subscribing to your Patreon when I'm able, and a bit stronger in mind.

Awesome video once more! I believe that the terms should be switched however. To me, "to look" has always been a term that is surface-level (i.e. "look over there" or "yea, I'll have a look"), something more attuned to glancing for a short-period of time without much focus. Conversely, "seeing" has always seemed like a term that is more thorough and deep (i.e. "to see into your soul" or "I see you (as opposed to just looking at you)"), something that correlates well with existential epiphanies and heartfelt realizations.

While I get that mastering yourself is great and all. But I’ve always wondered… where’s an end game? Like if you literally have accomplished everything that you’ve wanted to work on and have a good life, you got the money, love and well-being. Where’s a point where it ends without doing everything all over again?? Just a curiosity.

Life is a constant process of becoming. It never ends. And once you fall in love with that process, youve won.

@@ColeHastings But surely there has to be a point where you can finally enjoy your own personal pleasures in life with the stuff that you’ve already mastered no?

It should be that way from the very beginning, although usually its not. Self acceptance is just as important as self improvement. Its a balance between enjoying where you are right now while improving for the sake of improvement itself.@@MilesPerez_2K22

Dude, we do this stuff all the time, You’re choosing not to talk to people, or not paying attention to detail. That’s You. And this has nothing to do with living in the U.S., because I’m very interactive and attentive to detail.

So america is a dump and Italy is beautiful. Yep. From the UK and our cities are mostly dumps. Mainland Europe on the other hand which also has its dumps is by and large more beautiful and enriching. The culture seems more natural, more human and beauty is everywhere.
