You are the "epitome" of what a doggie owner should be. A dog, as I am sure you know, always stays being a "baby", because they will always need a Mum or Dad(or BOTH) to take care of them. My Marco is two years old. And he is very territorial. A few times he caught my neighbors trespassing and heard the neighbors shouting rudely at me for getting them out of my property. now it’s impossible to get him just to walk pass them without barking. 😮‍💨 He is doing great in the dogs parks, at home, etc. He could even play nicely with another male Aussie, which is a blessing. My trainer said once Aussies don’t like someone, it is almost impossible to change their mind.

I can see that!! They are kinda born with an innate "stranger danger" so socialization from a VERY early age is important and somt bad experiences can make or break them :/

You could always play the rain and thunder storms on your tv while she sleeps so she gets used to it more.(maybe off of KZbin) Some breeders use that at a younger age for some noise exposures!! Much love to you and Freya ☺️❤️

Omg I feel so dumb but…I never thought of using a traffic lead for high traffic areas?? I have both a regular 6ft leash and hands-free leash that is 4-6ft but I will definitely be investing in a traffic lead to clip to my hands-free band!

I really appreciate your informative videos. I have been on the fence now for a while about getting a mini aussie. I live in an apartment and worry that their high energy level might be to much to handle. I work from home so have a lot of time to devote to a puppy. I dont know anyone who has an aussie, so I try to find people who have experience with them. If anyone has any advice I would appreciate it. Freya is very beautiful!

It's definitely doable! the puppy stages are HARD but so worth it!! CONSISTENCY IS KEY!! Set boundaries and hold your ground on behaviors you do and don't want from day 1 and training will go by quicker! 🤍

Well- i dont have a dog yet but if your border collie does something bad don’t use the crate as a punishment otherwise your puppy won’t want to go in their crate anymore. :)

CONSISTENCY is KEY!!!! That's my #1 tip. Decide what you want to do and how you want to do it before bringing them home and STICK TO IT!!! (on the couch or no, on the bed or no, begging at the table or being in their bed when you eat, sitting and waiting for food, or free for all, sitting and waiting at the door, or walking out freely, counter surfing or no, pulling on the leash or no, sitting up front with you in the car or staying in the back calmly, etc.) once you decide and stick to it your dog will learn quicker what is acceptable and what is not :) ❤️

I have a female BC. She is turning three in November. She is so sweet and well behaved that everyone says she is the perfect dream dog which is too good to be true. But this was the effort of consistency, training, and patience. She doesn’t chase cats, squirrels, deers,etc. And she helps me to herd my Aussie back in case my Aussie doesn’t come back to me during recall.

If she is scared we ignore those behaviors and don't condone them or she will keep doing them to get attention. so we only pay attention to the behaviors we DO want, which is calmness when it storms and she gets treatos :)

OMG I have that same brand of dog collar for my aussie pup LOL. Mine is a different design and font, and I found it on amazon. I'm trying to teach her to heel but since she's mini and still so small at 17 weeks, she tries to jump up for the treat. She has a problem with jumping on people in general. Also she does not like going to her place (crate) on her own without treats involved. Any tips?
