The "orchestral" part takes resources, but in general there are insane numbers of musicians putting out music in hundreds or thousands of genres, Shirley more than at any other time in human history. Someone recommended "Year of the Newt" by the musician Bobbing to me because I like Max Tundra, and trying to find out more about him I came across the "indietronica" sub-genre on RateYourMusic that lists 12,000 releases by hundreds of artists I'd never heard of. There are more kinds of metal than there are brands of guitar amp. Sturgeon's Law "90% of everything is crap" applies, but that leaves hundreds of thousands of tracks every year that are pretty good.

This resonates with my nervous system in Waze that various little music does, and it’s incredibly valuable to me for that reason. Rhythmic it does something to my neurotransmitters, my mental math that seems to create some alignment that doesn’t exist when I’m not listening to this music. Harmonically, it soothes me, but in a tremendously expensive way. Like I’m flying over the planet experiencing humanity Like life is some big neural network and we’re all connected to everything. And besides that, it just amuses me. There is a joyful sarcasm. A playful irreverence, and yeah, it just makes me feel good in a way that not much else does and I’m a pretty happy person for the most part. But this, this is extraordinarily special.
