The "orchestral" part takes resources, but in general there are insane numbers of musicians putting out music in hundreds or thousands of genres, Shirley more than at any other time in human history. Someone recommended "Year of the Newt" by the musician Bobbing to me because I like Max Tundra, and trying to find out more about him I came across the "indietronica" sub-genre on RateYourMusic that lists 12,000 releases by hundreds of artists I'd never heard of. There are more kinds of metal than there are brands of guitar amp. Sturgeon's Law "90% of everything is crap" applies, but that leaves hundreds of thousands of tracks every year that are pretty good.

@@omfgacceptmyname they’re so young, I just look forward to seeing what they mature into. Beck is obviously a technically virtuosic drummer, but to me he has this unrefined manner of so desperately avoiding a repeating pattern that all his drum work ends up sounding the same to me. Domi is obviously some kind of chord master, but I want to see her really work on memorable melodies rather than just changing around as much as possible. There’s stuff of theirs that I’ve felt blissfully stimulated listening to, and then there are times when it seems like interminable meandering.

This resonates with my nervous system in Waze that various little music does, and it’s incredibly valuable to me for that reason. Rhythmic it does something to my neurotransmitters, my mental math that seems to create some alignment that doesn’t exist when I’m not listening to this music. Harmonically, it soothes me, but in a tremendously expensive way. Like I’m flying over the planet experiencing humanity Like life is some big neural network and we’re all connected to everything. And besides that, it just amuses me. There is a joyful sarcasm. A playful irreverence, and yeah, it just makes me feel good in a way that not much else does and I’m a pretty happy person for the most part. But this, this is extraordinarily special. Like really effing special.

So great to hear again, was fortunate enough to be there in 2021 and 2023 in Utrecht. Already preordered the vinyl! I'm so in love with this music and Knower can't wait to here more new music! Louis Cole thank you so much for doing these shows here in NL. Cannot wait to see you guys again in October!
