I can't wait to start my first middle grade March. When my 7 year old daughter hears that I was going to participate she decided to help me pick out the books I would read. Some of the books will be read alouds so she can participate too. Book with pictures- The wild robot and The wild robot escapes (both read aloud) Mystery- The parker inheritance Book set in another country- Akata witch Book to movie- The house with a clock in the wall and Harry Potter and the prisoner of azkaban ( both read aloud) Book about books/stories- Land of stories the wishing spell (read aloud) and Words on fire We may not finish all the read alouds but we are going to have fun trying 😀

Hi, I’m a new subbie! And I’m trying to get back into reading... I used to read a lot - but I have been sick with daily severe chronic pain for the past 20 years... I read a lot to my son and we read a lot together till he was 9 or 10... I never realized that reading Middle grade books was a popular thing. I think I picked a great month to start reading again... I’ve tried lots of adult books and struggled to finish them - it’s difficult to focus for long time with my pain... so I think lighter, sweeter books will be easier for me to read... and shorter too...

So excited about Middle Grade March!!! Just added Kind of Paradise to my TBR😁 Also I have a mystery recommendations for you. Blue Balliet wrote Chasing Vermeer and Wright 3 which are both excellent middle grade mysteries (with illustrations). They are set in Chicago and each mystery revolves around these 6th graders solving art mysteries like finding a stolen Vermeer painting and solving a mystery about Frank Lloyd Wright’s Robie House in Chicago. Just thought of another wonderful middle grade mystery series... The Pumpkin Falls Mysteries. Currently there are two and a third comes out in June. The first one is Absolutely Truly. It’s about a 12 year old girl whose father is injured by and IED and so they have to move from Texas back to her father’s small New Hampshire town to run the family book store. It’s about change and finding your place with a mystery to solve😁
