Be wise, Jesus said you'll know His by their fruit not how good they look and pray.... Be patient, very patient and allow God to lead you to someone with proven trust. I was too open when first born again and it did a lot of damage. God knows your hearts desires so be patient or you'll open Pandoras box which can never be closed once opened. God bless you

I leave in Uganda, I an a born again Christian but I have struggled so much with so much in my life and I have crying to God for help. Will I ever be clean, will I ever stop this, I am crying and fasting almost all my life but it seems God is completely quiet about all this. I have discovered that it is not by my might. When he talked about the emotional reason, I saw myself coz as a child I missed parental love and this even in my old age of fifty I feel so low. I am glad I visited this site. Awesome! Again, We are saved by believing that Jesus died on the cross for our sins and rising up in His resurrection. All good comes from God, but because of our sins, we need a Savior. Out of love, God sent His Son, Jesus, to die on the cross and save us from our sins. Jesus rose up and He lives today in heaven! He hears our prayers. "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans 10:9 You may pray something like this: "Dear Jesus, I ask You to come into my heart and be my Savior. Save me from my sins, and give me Your Holy Spirit. I want to live with you forever. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen."After we accept Jesus, we are to pray to Jesus and read the Bible to grow closer to Him. A good book in the Bible is John. God's Holy Spirit is with you too, and He helps you. Remember, Jesus loves you!

This breakdown was one of the most understandable I have heard on the subject of grace but a little more focus on SEEKING the Lord FERVENTLY for overcoming power and deliverance over sin would have been helpful. Omg, I can’t tell you the times I’ve asked god to “meet me halfway, if I…” and so forward lol. I would make jokes to him about it too, how I don’t mean to make a bargain with him. You speaking on that made me feel a bit encouraged that this is something more common than just me wanting to make a deal with god, and only me asking for his help when I’m breaking down to him on a car drive home late at night. Me asking for his mercy like he’s with me in the car instead of an unattainable entity was a door opener. 20 mins later I narrowly escaped a car flying across a highway median from the opposite direction, it crashed into the wall directly in front of me and the neighboring suburban traveling 70 mph in tandem. I mean, had we both been 1 second faster, traveling 71 mph, that very neighbor would’ve been t-boned thus forcibly slamming into me, killing myself and dog instantly. We were on the most dangerous highway entering the downtown city of Dallas. the velocity and impact would’ve been a bloodbath for many. God stopped it, I’m sure of it. What a revelatory experience.

Yes focus on Jesus ! Fall in love with him ! Worshiping and being in His presence is transforming . The more you time you give to God and spend time in His presence the less you will desire other ways to fill the void. It is a process but He delivered me so I know He can do it for you! God was definitely talking to me today. I've been struggling with weight loss and bad eating habits. I've prayed and prayed about it but today, right before a workout walk, I prayed to God about it again.
