The other thing to consider is the speaker's DC resistance (not rated impedance, 8 ohm vs. 4 ohm). Even though both speaker may be rated nominally at 4 ohm, they may be almost a few ohms apart in which case the speaker with the lower DCR will be louder.

You could run both negative wires in sink then just use a 3 way toggle switch for the power wires that way you don't have to touch the wires.

Speaking of speakers' style, each brand is different. That is, the Orion brand shows off loud and clear, while the pioneer brand listens to beautiful melodies.

Oh and one more thing. Ignore the peak wattage that's bs, go by the rms. If they don't give you the rms rule of thumb is the rms is around half the peak. Keep up the good work. The is no free lunch in audio... just physics. You trade sensitivity for low end extension. To play 1/2 octave lower (halving the frequency) you need 4 times as much power or 4 times more moving mass (which conversely drops top end sensitivity by 6dB). Pioneer is biased for the low end while the Orion is for the top end. Frankly, there is no business playing 80Hz through a car door so generally I prefer the more sensitive gear. You want one of the loudest mids for the money? Look up the B&C 6PEV13 (rated 99dB/W out of a 6.5 inch driver). Keep in mind that is an 8-ohm speaker, not 4-ohm.

I ordered a pair of the cheaper orions cobalts with the 1.5 inch cobalt tweeters had to modify the door card mounted them flush on the outside wired them at 2ohm to my rockford p400.4 the best sounding budget pair of speakers I had ever way better than the infinity kappa I had in there in the summer gonna get 2 8inch and modify my rear deck great videos man keep it up!

You should check each speakers ohm impedance with a multimeter before testing. That might explain why one speaker is louder the others.

@@LIFEINSPEED Some times from the factory where the speakers are make the speakers can be mislabeled. Wrong sticker label put on speakers. You should not rely on a sticker. 101 for a reputable stereo installer to check the impedance on all speakers before installation. If you have two 6.5, same model, same brand one is 8ohm and the other is 4ohm. Using the same setup, same power and volume. With one will sound louder??? Providing you have tested each speaker with a DMM before installation to confirm the impedance of each speaker is correct for you testing. The speaker with the lowest impedance will draw more current and will sound lower. You might already know this information but from watching your videos, you are asking the question “quote” Why is it so loud.

I can attest to the deafbonce arnolds for sure, but i may have cheated with running 400w rms through them :) far as burningcoils go, i would make sure the gains are set with an o scope and from what your describing, could be clipping them a little bit.

Hey id love to see you use the skar vx1 tweeter with the orion or the b&c. I just bought the skar tweeters and they are an improvment in clarity over my old prv 700ti tweeters. Im also using an eminence alpha 10a 10 inch mids and some cheap 10s and 8s that are similar to the full range pyramid in the videos. The eminence alpha 10a or 8a are more like the b&c speaker while the other speakers i have are more like the orion.

This is a flawed test. These are meant to be run with tweeters. As far as midrange go the Pioneer have more natural vocals than the Orion. Also, speaker break-in plays a vital role in how they sound. The Orion to me sounds harsh and bright. Only good for SPL setup not sq.
