Amputating a paw is not the same as amputating an entire leg. Don`t do it, because she doesn`t seem to be in pain and she has learned to cope with it just fine since birth. I noticed she knows when to rest it on the fence when needed. Why make her have to deal with a new disability, when she has already mastered this one? It`s a known fact, once a partial amputation is done, it can result in infections and more and more amputations may be necessary. At present she is a happy, loving and well cared for animal...Love and blessings to you and your family

I would leave CARLY Alone she is doing fine and if something comes up a Vet will let you know its necessary. Carly is fine. She doesn't know any difference. ❤

I have a 4 lb Chihuahua w/ a leg she carries too, but she walks on it at times. She carries hers when she runs. My vet said if she isn't in pain to leave her alone. If you watch, Carlie walked on hers by the feeder. She carried it when she was in a hurry to get to you. They don't know they are any different than the others. She isn't in pain, so leave her alone. Call the pony Hershey. He can call it what he wants if he is near him.

I would just see that as a big disruption in Carly’s mind, body, and soul, traumatized being taken away from the farm, etc.. She’s getting along just fine and she’s happy.

Livestock Guardian dogs are very conscious of their job of being with their animals on their farm. I’m thinking an amputation is more than a couple hours and that Carly would become very stressed. I already see the little white dog, not wanting to be let out of the fencing away from Daisy and her animals and "yard". The family is so tightly knit, I don’t see a reason for adding the extra stress to them either. I’m just saying that if it’s not broke, don’t try to fix it. 🐕.

In my humble opinion, I believe Carlie is doing fine just as she is. If she’s not in any pain leave her be. At least she has the option to put her foot down if she needs or wants to. Y’all will figure it out. You always do. 😊💕💕

The most i would do to Carly is declaw her. I hear from your videos that its the claws that is the problem, not the paw or leg. Do what you believe is best. Your family is the best at making decisions for your family.

Don't declaw her. Declawing involves taking the first knuckle of each digit. It's not just removing the claw. Imagine losing the first knuckle of each finger on your hand. It will be incredibly painful and could result in infections getting into the bone. This could cause her to lose the entire leg or possibly going septic and dying. Leave her as she is. She is compensating just fine!

If u mix baking soda & water into a paste & stick it on her foot it should help a lot most of my family is allergic to bees & this is what we do it brings the swelling down faster than without it & after applying it she can stick a sock on to hold it in place

There is a difference with the condition between Carly and Dixie. Dixie's condition needed emergency intervention due to unfortunate trauma as she was in dire pain. Due to that trauma Dixie's amputation greatly increased her chance of survival and quality of life that she would not have had otherwise. If Carly's condition is only a birth defect, and the if the vet says it is not causing her any pain then amputation on Carly would only cause her unnecessary distress and any potential risks that may come with it. Is Carly the older dog out of the 3?

I say she keeps her leg. If u have trouble with the toes or nails u can remove the last digit of the toe. But I see her put a little weight on it sometimes. It probably gives her balance. Removing the whole leg is such a big sugary. If people ask they just don’t know she was born that way. We will always make sure they understand. Maybe if u bought some horse treats u could keep them in a bucket by the Little horses so u won’t have to remember. Thanku for being u and for doing what u do. 🐾❤️🐾

I watch SANDI BROCK a KZbin creator who raises lambs, I believe that she turns her animal upside down to trim feet, which would be less stress on your part. I don’t know if sheep and goats would be the same, however her set up looks just like yours. Love your channel! 😊

As long as her foot isn’t dragging and getting hurt, leave her alone, my brothers dog got hit by a car and dragged her front leg. She lived almost 19 years like that. She was the best dog. She played and went everywhere with my brother, even when he worked!

You could give the chickens scraps of raw vegetables and egg shells, they will love them.

Have you tried making a baking soda paste? Put it on it with bandage and it should heal it up pretty quick. Cold compresses as well will help, if you’re not doing these things already. Prayers for quick healing.😻🙏🦅🥰

If you get an aerator and put 2 or 3 air lines from it into the pond it will agitate the water and help clear it up so you can get rid of the slime and such plus help put oxygen into the water for fish survival

Carlie is fine as she is, she has adapted to her paw the way it is. She does use it a bit. Unless your vet recommends it, fine, you can make a decsion then. No need in making a bad situation worse.
