Prepare yourself for the mental shift after you launch. Suddenly everything changes. Still lots of work to do but after years of building the routine changes & has a profound mental impact. Best of luck and great job

You are making cracking progress and it is good to have a stretch target of a launch date. However, once afloat as you will be at more of a distance from your tools and supplies - jobs will take five times longer.

Instead of putting a cover up there where the 90 degree turn is - consider actually putting a small fan up there that can be removed to accomplish the same task.

There are two jobs you can save to do after you launch the boat. Put the toilet paper in its holder and the paper towels in its rack. Finish the boat on the hard. No reason to hurry to the water. Take my word for it.😊

Absolutely agree. I raced to get mine off the hard but it was costing me almost $3k a month. Now progress has ground to a halt as I am in non working birth. Not sure what you are paying for your shed but agree that leave launching to the last minute…

Thinking of that list of things you can finish after the launch hurts my head! You know, it’s one thing having everything you need right there in the shop and quite another NOT BRINGING THE SHOP INTO THE BOAT ON THE WATER! It’s one hell of a big boat and I don’t know how you keep track of it all, you’ll manage though, you two always do!

Great progress sir! Happened to go to a closing of one of our local Harley Davidson Dealers here where I live, St Charles, Illinois and my son and I made a purchase there, our cashier we found was from your town in AU, blond, and hazel eyes, bout same age as Sam. She said she knows your family. I thought I got her name but me getting up there in years bloodywell forgot. I think her name is Kayla? Anyway, I told her to tell you G’day if she got to talk to you again. Small world! Stay safe!

Hi Ross, I don’t know a lot about boats, but I have a question, all those hatches, are you going to be able to lock them securely? What if you get hit by a rogue wave or get caught out in really bad weather and they get torn off, isn’t there a risk that you’ll flood where there’s no bulkheads? Excuse my screen name, my daughter nicked my channel😉

I saw this paint called KiwiGrip. They put it on using the same roller to give it a texture.
@LifeOnTheHulls
@LifeOnTheHulls 4 ай бұрын
That is exactly where the idea came from, I used it a few years ago to make a non skid pattern on a fishing boat I built.You do have to be careful to achieve a softer finish as the kiwigrip can be super aggressive as a non skid.Ross

@LifeOnTheHulls

The gel coat has been in place for a couple of years now, I will polish wetland to 1200 grit with DA sander and handwork, then move through three cutting compounds medium cut , fine and super fine with polisher to luster for final seal.Big job ahead.We don't use wax as it is unnecessary for final finish.Rossco
