This may be too late, but as a residential home & marine electronics installer, I wanted to say again that conduit is great for running wire only from point A to B, and all "Y" or "T" joints are definitely to be avoided! Also, "45 deg" and "90 deg" bends need to have a large radius to ensure wires do not 'bind' or jam when pulling. If you need to have a junction, use a junction box, or leave an open access area (like you've done "behind a drawer"). If pulling wire to a hard to reach area, use a separate run of conduit back to a good junction box or open area. Again, any kind of "split" like a "T" or "Y" is more than useless - and will cause major headaches if trying to pull wire in the future. Flexible electrical conduit is ideal, but rigid "electrical" conduit, with large-radius bends, is fine - but plumbing conduit with small-radius bends should be avoided. I mentioned this in a post 1- or 2-years ago, but I still hope everything works out!

Everything is looking so good. Have you used a heat gun to put angles in your PVC? Give it a go. You'll be surprised at how much bending and perfect angles you can make. Then once cool it becomes just as strong. Such a great buy on all the material! Very happy to see everything coming along so sweetly.

l have to admit, your planning explanations of what's to take place are so helpful. that is NOT true of so many other DIYers! I will have to do so much of the fabrication you are doing on your boat on mine as well when I get to renovating it. It takes me so much time to think about how I'm going to do things since I have no experience other than watching you. Your planning is a big help for me. (Although I was thinking it would have helped to gel-coat those inner hull sides BEFORE you put those conduits in.) I guess these events took place a while ago as I'm sure you have the deck on / over the hull now.

Great score on the honeycomb! I do veneer work and love the wood selections you can get for a reasonable price. Have you thought to which species you are thinking of for your finish work? May I suggest Koa Golden Hawaiian or Walnut Silky Australian QC Stripe. Many many more to choose from. Now I have a slab of Waterfall Bubinga 40" x 144" x 1.5" that I might be convinced to sell for the right project (very rare piece today). I'm sure it will look great no matter what you choose (well almost). Curious as to why you are using such a large conduit? It seems you could use a smaller diameter. Either way, run your pull strings while your runs are short. I would use flex pipe where I had to make tight turns. Piecing together plumbing connections leaves internal ridges that can make pulling wires harder.

I believe the junction box idea would be better for you. That would allow you to have access for future expansion if you needed to pull more cabling through. There is a down side to that though, the possibility of water getting into your conduit by going through the junction box.

Hi Ross ! At 19:40 you're describing an issue with getting a clean transition to pass electrical and water through a few walls. You'll have a few pull lines to get the wires through those areas right ? I was thinking instead of the 45 to 90 degree elbows above shelf, you could go from the batteries straight to the other holes in horizontal shelf by opening the holes as ovals. This would make for a straighter transition, literally and 45 elbows on the ends on either side of walls if you need to extend them to meet other conduits.

Ross love the detail and strength you're building into the boat. Just a question to satisfy my curiosity. I see you using that multi tool to cut the glass, do you have to change blades often. Back 50 years ago when I worked during the summer building fiber glass yachts I recall using an small (~4") air powered circular saw that was fitted with a diamond edged blade. Went through glass like butter, certainly much faster than the multi tool. Is there a reason you don't use that? They were very dusty and no one used PPE back then!!
