Getting close now Rossco- I think I can smell salt water! Great idea with the thickened epoxy no voids and it will fill any imperfections ( not that there any )

Rossco; completing one room at a time was never an issue with me. In a production line you have several workers and each has a specific focus so completing huge sgments is much faster but your project is more a labour of love and your methods have been spot on. :)

Ross, the good news and bad news of building your own boat, is when your at sea and something breaks - you can't blame the factory. At least you know it was built with quality and quality control. - Just think back when you came up with the idea of building your own boat - all the promises you gave Janet for the future. You're a Lucky Man, Mate!

Love the idea to use epoxy for the panels. Almost impossible with contact adhesive to be accurate. Only one chance. Must seem like massive changes in few days. Wow effect.
@LifeOnTheHulls3 ай бұрын
The epoxy and laminex also adds essential a bit more structure to an already beef up bulkhead, so that would be a good thing any way.

I'm glad you are finally able to see the finished results of all your work. I found your channel about a year into the project (when it had the old name). I went back to the beginning to get caught up and have not missed a week since. I have been amazed and inspired by your drive throughout, even when it was tedious, endless work. Now you can see it. But... it might have gone faster if you worked more than 20 or 30 minutes a week 🤣

Roscoe that is coming on fantastic. On the subject of buying the boat or building it - you are producing a high quality boat -but if there are any problems down the line you know exactly who to blame.😉 There are just so many horror stories on YT (mainly but not exclusively - South African production facilities). Maximising batch production methods are definitely the way to go (as far as is practical) and especially so when you can get friends and family doing the batches.😉👍⛵️

Thanks Norman, I have been watching the horror stories of warranty problems with interest and feel for those that cannot resolve issues with the manufacturers.Enjoying the fitout process although very fiddly.Ross

I decided to replace the frayed upholstery in our Pacemaker, but it was in the 90's (32+ in 'upside-down land') for both temp and humidity on the canal. I took the AC unit out of the window in the spare bedroom and set it on the cabin top with a 'cardboard' tunnel ducting the cold air into the cabin. Got the temp down to 78 (25C) and lowered the humidity to the point that I hated to have to go outside for any tools, and, of course, I brought the esky full of ice and brews inside with me. Strange how a two hour job of sliding on new covers took two days... 🥶😵
