Hey man, thanks for keeping this uploaded. I've been on this road once (edmonton so we never take it) and it's shocking to see that for such a major road it's so sharp. Upgrades finally completed and I can't wait to see the improvements made. Thanks for the video! I'll be revisiting it again soon!

I absolutely ENJOYED this video. I watched the drivers skill, I heard how and when he changed gears in the truck, I listen to the engine of the truck as it negotiated each upgrade and downgrade, the S...curves, and the turns. Awesome...give us more...learned a lot!!!!

A very interesting video. The road has change so much since the 1980's when I was trucking through there. My last trip through there was in 1989. Golden has changes so much since then.

Thank you for this video. I have actually seen this same area in other videos, but not in HD on a clear camera. Keep up the good work. This video worked really well with some worship music I was listening to in the background.

This brings back memories. About a decade ago I did this on a bicycle. Most amazing experience, especially considering how much the shoulder was washed out in places, sometimes even itd washed out into the driving lane a little.

Nice video! I'm from Holland (europe) and we don't have mountains over here (in fact: most of us live below sea level ;-) ) So I keep coming back to Alberta and BC, especially Golden... to sniff the fresh air!

New to your channel. Enjoying watching you videos. Started with you first one and am working my way through as I work at my desk. Just got some Barley Max in the mail today. Looking forward to starting to use it and becoming more disciplined in my diet. Going to start eating and drinking in a way that pleases the Lord. Love how u always give credit to Yeshua with things he blesses u with whether it's a strength u have or when u have success in an action u take where u need His help. Your videos have inspired me to live a little more simplistically and focus more of my time seeking Him in the simpler things rather than the extraordinary. Looking forward to traveling with you over the last 8 years u have been posting. Thanks for sharing your life with us all.

Hi Ricky, sometimes if its real slippery we will put chains on going down hill.. As for the trailer, putting one drag chain on prevents the trailer from sliding..

I used to live in Golden from 1990-2003. I drove a crew bus back and forth for CP rail crews..Golden to Field. That highway was horrible back then. The new bridges and rock control make it look a lot tamer now..which isn't saying much. I recall every year so many ambulances heading out into the canyon. Thanks for the video and safe journeys to you.

Drove a tax/crew bus from Golden to Field every day, winter and summer. The road is so much safer now at the bridges. Canyon still sketchy but big improvement.

I use to drive this about 4 times a day or night running train crews up to Field before they did all the work on it. It was hard to recognize most of the road because they have improved it so much from the lat 80s.

great filming, we drove this route to Golden in 2011 as we did not film as much of the drive as you have it's nice to see and remember it again. It would be good if it was on video to show the grandchildren where we had been and the roads we have travelled on to get there. Best safety run off for speeding traffic I have ever seen, none like that one over here in England keep on filming.

ok that isn't as bad as it used to be, the one major hairpin doesn't seem to be there anymore. and most of the older truckers call it kicking horse pass, been over that many of times with my hubby...at least they made it better.thanks for showing.

Good ole days when rocks were crashing across highway near 5 mile bridge, and 10 mile bridge. This new highway sure looks much better.

I drove this before they did much of the road widening. That was an eye opener for a rookie trucker. Also Anarchist Pass on the #3. Wow.

Itching to go on a road trip through the mountains? Here's the next best thing. No need to worry about the driving, and you'll be perfectly safe in the comfort of your own couch. Just put it on your biggest screen, follow Ray and enjoy the spectacular views. But, don't forget to get out for real as well. The natural world cannot be beat!

Is this video before or after the bypass bridge eliminates a lot of the hairpins?

looks like the bypass bridge... you didn't have to navigate all those old river valley turns at the bottom

This doesn't look very dangerous. I mean, any mountain can be dangerous if you don't respect the terrain or take care of your equipment. But it looks relatively tame compared to some of the stuff I've driven.
