A tip for the “oily” effect: I found that baby powder works amazing when getting rid of the oil marks. All you need to do is create a slim and I mean slim layer of baby powder between the plastic on the case and the glass screen. If the layer is to thick you might not be able to use the touch screen through the plastic cover. To do this all you need to do is get the baby powder and puff it into the air in front of you. This should form a cloud. After you do that, take the front part of the case and swipe it through the cloud a few times. Afterwards you should notice a thin layer of power over the inner part of the screen. Making sure you don’t touch it, put the phone back into the case. If the layer is thin enough you won’t notice the baby powder and the spots will be removed.

Finally!!! Been waiting for an in depth review of this case in English lol. I have it and paid a crap load for it but I don’t use it. It distorts the sound and the plastic film on the cameras causes the case to create halos when you take any pics that have direct light hitting the camera lenses. I can’t believe lifeproof gets away with charging $90 for this case. I do not recommend it. The oil stains that it creates on the screen is atrocious. Only remedy is to use a matte screen protector. Too many negatives to justify the price of this case just for the waterproof feature.

its definately not perfect and water proof comes at a cost, as well as drawbacks. obviously not a goo d daily driver case for some, but good for emergancy cases like taking ur phone to the beach. i took my phone out of this case for the first time after i finished the video and i was amazed it looked new. by that i mean it was cleaannnnnn. not dirt or anything. i havent found a better waterproof case so far then lifeproof. hopefully ther R&D can work out some improvements for next yers reevision

you can't use a tempered glass screen protector with this case otherwise there's the possibility of it not sealing properly. I've tried using on and it made the screen very hard to use.

You realize that little window is so you can touch the apple logo right? The logo has had touch sensors in it since the iPhone 6 I beleive. You can configure what it does in the accessibility menu. I have always set mine to double tap logo for screenshot.

I bought my first FRE case for my iphone 4, about 9 years ago. It still works perfectly, although when friendly Apple stopped doing iOS updates for the 4, I upgraded to an 11 Pro. The FRE case that I bought for that phone lasted 3 years before the thin plastic/rubber strip running across the top of the Lightning port buckled upwards, losing the waterproofing. So I bought a new FRE case for the 11 Pro earlier this year - it lasted about 3 months. The cover that folds over the Lightning port broke off. Not through any misuse; it was simply material fatigue at the left side hinge point, which is very thin plastic. Whereas on the iphone 4 where the hinge opens downwards and has a great steel pin through the hinge, the 11 Pro case is badly designed and I was probably lucky to get the first case to last 3 years. Lifeproof have just delivered a replacement case under warranty which was good service, but even that was not without problems as the online claim screen failed to recognise any of the code numbers on my original invoice. I had to go through several emails trying to find somebody who could assist. I have no issues with the rest of the performance. I take clear photos and videos and the screen is fine. I stayed with the FRE case after my iphone 4 was so well protected. Just be aware of the port cover issue. On the new case, I am going to add a thin film of black silicon rubber to the outside (bought at hardware stores, in a tube) to try to strengthen the hinge. That will not detract from the overall appearance. If I had designed this case, I would have inserted a Kevlar fabric hinge with a very high swing test performance or else adopted the same downwards hinge with the steel pin that it is so reliable on the 4. Buyer beware but still fairly good service, just proven. 😎🇳🇿

With my iPhone X I liked to leave my screen protectors on because without that extra tiny bit of thickness, there would be a super tiny amount of “give” or space at the bottom of the screen area on the case. I had this problem with multiple examples of the same case and so I just put a screen protector back onto my phone and put it in the case and then it worked perfectly!

i had the oily effect but i used a dryer sheet and heat gun when putting the phone in the case and that got rid of them. has to be really dry when you put the phone in the case. it also helps if you have a micro fiber cloth and when you put the phone in the case lay the back on a hard surface and put the phone in the back first and then snap the front over the phone while it is laying on the back.

That is not how lifeproof recommends to install it. Place it screen down and speaker end first then lay it down and snap the back on.

For those watching, I have a glass screen protector on my phone and the case STILL fit👍🏽 no need to remove your already existing screen protector… one thing i do notice is that my screen isn’t touch sensitive with the Lifeproof case, I have to press harder down on the keys.. but don’t mind it

After 4-5 years they STILL cannot get rid of the rainbow effect. The Fre is the best design they have but the rainbow effect is definitely a deal breaker especially on an OLED screen. I’ve heard if you have a glass screen protector on and you force the case closed it does help with the rainbow effect.

I had a LifeProof FRÉ case for my Galaxy S9 and it was terrible... the screen protector is a film of cheap plastic so the touchscreen performance was horrible. I recommend the Catalyst Water Proof Case... the screen protector sits tight on the Phone Screen and doesn't glare as bad in direct sunlight. Also, the Catalyst Case is not a slippery piece of shot like the FRÉ... The FRÉ's cheap plastic back cover is real slick.

hey man Can a tempered glass still fit? I called the company directly and they don’t recomend but I just can’t go out without a tempered glass lol oh I just watched ur video about the tempered glass lol but if you use this case for emergency you just remove the tempered glass and put the iPhone in this case ? And when u just don’t need it you apply another tempered glass ( I’m sure u have many lol I do ) let me know man I’m so use to otter box symmetry did you have any issues now? On the actual screen cracks etc would you recommend as a daily or stick to otter box symmetry ?

Although this is the superior case on the market when you consider protection + sleekness trade off, the quirks are detrimental. The screen protectors is not only causes the oil stain, it will cast a fog over the front facing camera and lower the quality. This problem applies to the rear case after a few months of use as well. It lowers the quality tremendously.

blackbushido1 honestly think twice because the screen protection is good but that oily effect is annoying. If you’re ok with that then it’s good but honestly way too pricey and bulky. If you’re an active sporty type probably this is good for you but if you’re the regular user who works in an office, travels at times and just snapping pics with friends then just get a Tech21 or Pelican case

I bought my FRE case for my iPhone 7 Plus because it was the only case that was waterproof and fits snug with glass screen protector. So far with the glass screen protector there are no oily film.

The only disappointing thing about the iPhone 11 FRE case is the rubber cap for the charging port. The rubber buttons on my iPhone 7 Plus FRE case is all ready malformed from all the pressing. I figure it might the same for the iPhone 11 FRE CASE. If iphone 11 FRE case has the plastic flip cap for the charging port like iPhone 7 Plus FRE case then it would be a definite buy.

I have a Lifeproof Fre case for my iPhone XS! In December last year I got mad at my parents, so they ordered me to give them my iPhone. Instead of complying with their orders, I threw the iPhone into the fire, causing them to rush to it and get it out with tongs! The iPhone survived, but the Lifeproof Fre case didn't. I had to order a new case.

It should snap shut. Check closely for what is stopping it. If it is a small plastic moulding, you might be able to trim it off with a sharp blade. Or fill the hole with some black silicon rubber, bought in small tubes at a hardware store.
