If you right click mix knob next to plugin in mixer, you can automation clip anything.

It only effects the mix level though, you can't automate individual parameters on 3rd party plugins with right clicking

brodie, when I move the knobs on the midi keyboard, it affects the volume of the instrument and not the effect, a frame pops up all the time, I would love to try this method

You using the FLKey midi as well? If so it's cause it's auto programmed to the DAW. You gotta change a few things in the FL midi settings. I'll see if you reply if you have it first!
