Hatchers Pass is an amazing area. You discovered a hidden beauty (Craigie Creek) that very few tourists visit. That cabin you hiked to is approx. 13-14 miles to my back door. My kids spent many a weekends hiking, camping, exploring, hunting and snow boarding those hills and I have para glided for years from Summit lake at the top of the pass. Your video skills do a good job of show casing our little hidden gem. I almost hate to stay it, but a lot of gold is taken out of that area by weekend prospectors.

I am so glad I found this channel, I am from New Mexico as well. Your families adventure through alaska is a dream of mine. My father was station there before leaving for Vietnam and I have made it my goal to bring him back to the place he talks about everyday. That would be a bucket list for us. Great camera work and I am looking forward to following up on all the episodes you have out. Stay safe out there, and continue to enjoy your beautiful family.

Love your videos. Trucks get us to trail heads, but as a hiker I must point out just how easy it became on foot after you got out. Your daughter gets it. My heart melted when she helped you along. Enjoyed the video. Keep up the amazing work.

Fantastic episode. I loved how you captured that trail in so much detail...very very compelling and a pleasure to watch. I know video never does justice to the terrain, but even so I thought this looked pretty dang difficult (well, downright impossible for my Forester actually). Really enjoyed your teamwork and the slow, carefully considered moves up the trail. And all beautifully edited to boot. Thank you!

In years past, I used to drive my CJ-7 on business trips and go off roading when I could; Black Hills, Colorado, California, Nevada, Utah, and NW Florida. Have been to some beautiful places but never was able to get too aggressive while off road because like you, I was usually alone and I still had to drive hundreds of miles to get back home. Loved that Mamabear was behind the wheel for this and I hope she enjoyed it as much as I always did.

After watching that video for a second time I now can pinpoint why I like your channel so much. For one you are a likeable family. For second you don't give off that dude bro vibe or the over serious vibe many other overlanding channels give off, which gets really grading after a while. For thirds you know what you are doing when driving, I know of another channel were the guy just bought a used 100k Euro camping truck (those big Euro ones you may have seen in Alaska) and you can see he didn't spend any money on learning how to drive that thing beyond getting the necessary license. For fourth your shots are awesome and finally the music choices.

I agree with you Rocky. Toyota and other sponsors should start selling Lifestyle Overland's apparels from all the videos they've done in making these incredible videos possible. Good job y'all. Now I want to go to Alaska 😊
@ravenfeather70875 жыл бұрын
Toyota is obviously doing just fine. They don't need to build a vehicle especially designed for idiots who would endanger their kids and in fact their entire families in order to pretend they're breaking new ground. There are enough vehicle tracks on the planet without making them in places where people and the environment are better off without them. How about they keep manufacturing practical, durable, simple, reliable, easy to maintain, inexpensive vehicles? Ooops, too late. They're already catering to pretend adventurers. Hey, Rocky - get off your ass and talk a walk. Hey Toyota! Ignore these epic assholes.

Very nice! I love the 5th Gen on the rocks! Great driving Sarah and fine spotting Kevin. The “whoops” are going to happen on wet rocks. Do you all carry a land anchor? I’m sure you do. There’s not exactly an abundance of trees to for winching like here in East TN. I loved during the hike when Sarah helped Caroline up a rock and she turned and offered you a hand... Priceless! Keep ‘em coming!

Don't worry, you can't drive to the lodge. Boat or plane only way. Happy trails guys.

Sarah did great! Sorry about the wheel scuff. But honestly that trail was getting treacherous as you guys kept on going higher in altitude. Any experienced driver could still have a wheel scuff or some other kind of trail rash on the body or wheel of your rig. I guess it is expected when we each take our rigs offroad that we are at risk of wheel, body or mechanical damage. Great job spotting for her. Let her decide for herself sometimes how much throttle she needs to give the 4Runner to get it over some humps. You guys are a great team! And Junior Ranger Caroline is such a trooper. Be safe out there guys.
