Is the lack of sloping on the cap a problem for potential moisture buildup?
@Lifetimecommercialroofing7 ай бұрын
Indeed. It is recommended to build slope into the cleat.

How much should that cost per linear foot?
@Lifetimecommercialroofing7 ай бұрын
That depends on your geographic location and which system you're using. Your cost can vary between 20 to 60 dollars per linear foot.
@lukasjoe1Ай бұрын
@onjofilms 5 to 15 a foot depending on materials and size of coping. Carlisle owned companies are over priced by about 300%

Please never make another video again. Cleat does NOT get fastened through the top. you just put holes in your water proofing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you @lukasjoe1 for the suggestion to never make a video again. If you review the manufacturers installation guide on just about any and all snap on coping caps you will find that the cleat is secured through the top and face. Here is a link for an example: www.floridabuilding.org/upload/PR_Instl_Docs/FL7424_R2_II_CONTINUOUS%20CLEAT%20COPING.pdf

@Lifetimecommercialroofing this is found in Florida so the manufacturers can advertise a higher wind rating and is still incorrect. They will not take responsibility for leaks caused by this bad install method. If top fasteners are required then the water proofing material should go over the cleat and not under it. This becomes even more important when raised cleats are used and condensation increases. You can also use butyl tape under the cleat where top fastening is required. I can send you an invite to our next demonstration on proper coping techniques if you're interested. These are held at our shop in Minneola FL.
